8 hour stomach flu in our class at Roosevelt. Thank goodness it seems to be all over quick but not fun for those 8 hours. I find myself often agreeing that the break in Feb. is unnecessary but then I forward to the fact that the kids will be out of those germy classrooms for 9 days otherwise it seems like they just keep infecting each other. The break seems to break the cycle. |

You are so right about the break being a double edged sword! I groan about it, but your right about any germs being stopped by it. I hope at least the 8 hours were not between 10pm and 6am. Cleaning up recycled dinner and not sleeping only makes it worse. |

ktmom, Ugh.....sorry to hear about the flu at your house. Must be yet another type of flu bug if it has already been 3 days. I think I remember another mom posting about a long lasting flu at her house with a couple of kids. I hope you are being able to find liquids that your little one can keep down so they don't get dehydrated. |

The "stomach flu" has hit is at Adams as well. My daughter has been sick on and off for almost 3 weeks! 2 days sick and then 9 days well, then 3 days sick, then 4 days well and now we are on day two of being sick again! No fever... just v & d. Yuck! No one else in my house has had it, but the doctor says it's just a bad virus that has been really going around! |

Unfortunately as much as I am going to enjoy the warm weather in the next week I think it will only bring out more germs!! To everyone who is sick ... Get well quick and to everyone else...I hope you stay healthy. It doesn't seem as bad as last year at Johnson or Frost so far but I am hearing about the long lasting bugs that come and go and linger around. |

Well, we must have had the "quicky" version of what people are talking about here. My 5th grader was vomiting from 6 p.m. til midnight. So hard his chest hurt. Finally went to sleep, slept all night and was completely fine the next morning! He wanted to go to school (might miss something good on recess!!!) but I kept him home in case he was still contagious. Boy, you should see my 2nd grader wash his hands now after seeing his brother get so sick  This happened Tuesday evening and so far no one else in our family has gotten it. |
