Many teachers have anonomously expressed their distain for this LI, but cannot speak out because they are worried about their job security. I believe we all need to spread the word with them that they can anonymously offer support by making a donation to our legal fund. All that is required is to walk into LaSalle Bank and make a cash or money order donation to the Citizens for Livonia's Future. It is nice to know that the professionals do not support this plan either!!!! |

They could mail it and use a money order to remain anonymous. |

Unfortunately we need the professionals to communicate that directly to the public ( and I don't mean those of us who are informed - no use preaching to the choir ) It would carry so much more weight with the cictizens who don't believe this plan impacts them at all because they have no children in schools, or they believe everything elected official say. If any teachers are reding this please do not feel threatened to speak out. The parents, citizens, and especially the children need your help!!!...pleeeeeeeeeezzzze!!! |

I'm confused, Don't the Teachers belong to a Union? How would thier job security be at risk? Unless of course this goes back to the other plans not saving as many jobs as the 5/6 crap plan. |

The union president came out heavily in favor of the plan. Thus if you are a teacher speaking out, you are fighting your employer and your union at the same time. |

I am a bit confused by what I am reading here. I am a teacher in Livonia and know of MANY teachers who are openly expressing their dislike for the LI. I don't know of any teachers that are keeping their feelings quiet because they fear for their jobs. I think (and I am speaking for myself and what I feel...not for anyone else!) that you don't find a lot of teachers in support of this website because they are in favor of the LI. And just to clear something up...The teachers have NO idea about their jobs for next year. I have read posts that say teachers are being forced to keep their mouths shut when it comes to their job placement for next year. That is simply not true. We have not been told yet and probably won't be for a few more months. |

There seems to be a lot of confusion amongst the teachers also. Some appear to have been given direction, some appear to have thier own opinions, many have not been given answers. I would urge everyone to support the teachers to the best of our ability and continue to express the value we have for each and every one of them. In the same respect I would ask the teachers who do not agree with the LI to begin being more vocal by writing letters to the Citizens for Livonias Future, the papers, the LPS, the Mayor, anybody and everybody - even the lawyer retained by the CFLF, and make sure they are signed/dated to indicate who & when this has been documented. I would also like to see the teachers who are opposed to get on board and get organized by becoming a part of the solution and not compalcent on the issue. If you truly are opposed, then openly join with the opposition and make your voices heard. Become one with those that value your jobs as much as we know you value our childrens education. We support you, we work with you, and we as the taxpaying, voting, citizens of Livonia WANT YOU!. Not hearing from, and seeing you teachers in our meeting, and in person only makes us believe there is direction for you to take a neutral stance so the administration will nat target you in any future actions. IF the administration is changed you won't have to worry about that. This is what we are about...change for the better of all, not for the decision of the few. |
