I thought it was a wonderful upbeat revival type meeting. Steve is a very good communicator and it was well organized. The hightlights, the background on how and why this attorney was chosen. Mr. Salazar presenting the group with a check for 5000.00, toward attorney fee's, very generous. Also the former mayor, Mr. Bennett speaking about his support for our fight, and his comments about the BOE. Also everyone was very well mannnered, so much for our bad reputation as "rabble rousers" I left feeling hopeful, which something I havent felt much of lately. |

The room was pretty full, that's for sure. I was pleased to see that this is a well organized and well though out mission. Anyone who thinks this is a group of fist pounding "militant radicals", is completely wrong. Steve did a wonderful job in his presentation. Well done guys.

We have just begun to fight!

The LPS Administrations response ( or lack thereof ) in 2 weeks will tell what the immediate direction will be - this is defined as the short term goal. The long term goal is still to take back OUR board and return it to the citizens. Get out and vote! |

The distribution of those flyers must have really made the difference. That's more people than last time! |

There doesn't seem to be any coverage of the meeting from the Observer today. Maybe they will write about it on Sunday. Does anyone know if they were at the meeting? I have heard that the larger newspapers keep tabs on the local newspapers for stories. We have to keep this in the papers. |

I thought the meeting was outstanding!!! Steve did an excellent job of presenting the information. I have to agree also that I was encouraged - when you listened to Steve's presentation, any logical person would have to ask "Why are they doing this?" Great community feedback and an excellent talk by Mr. Bennett. Honestly, I was hoping for an even larger turnout. I think in future flyers or communications, it needs to be better communicated how this impacts all citizens (ie. property values) and not just those with school children. We're missing a HUGE untapped audience. A big THANK YOU to the core group of people/parents that have started this organization and have spent countless hours and $$ getting this going. My contribution is in the mail. Everyone - please contribute - we need to fight this LI and to do so, money is needed!!! (it is money well spent!!!) |

I'm so sorry I was unable to attend, but I have heard it was an awsome meeting. FYI, I live on Lyndon off of Levan, my son is not in school yet, and we did not recieve any flier regarding the meeting. And two of my neighbors did not recieve them either. Thank God for this forum!! thank you for keeping us well informed. |

I too thought it was a very good meeting. I appreciated Steve trying to keep everything in perspective. We are trying to do one thing, stop this proposal. I for one am not a parent that is going to have my children fight my battles or think I am mad at their teachers, school, etc... by removing them from school on particular days. I really think we need to all stay focused and try to keep our children out of the line of fire and continue to support them and their teachers. Thank you for all of the time and effort and commitment that you have for our children. I appreciate you all. A Grant Parent |

Is there a way to see a copy or an outline of Steve's speech? |
