Hopefully those on the teams will not do their dirty work. Because some of the forum members signed up for teams and/or focus groups, I am sure they will not have a problem stirring up the poo if need be. |

Do I need to go back to the can of poo avatar? I just got Moe, Larry & Curly ( aka Leipa, Lessard & Whitehead ) working right yesterday. |

Wouldn't it be just ducky for the BOE and Administration if the transition teams do all the talking to the public in the future? |

Wait to verify this information. They can't take away a teacher prep time without union approval. So I would guess this is just a rumor. To answer Grant1 - in Plymouth-Canton, students go to library 1 day a week for 45 minutes. Kindergarten goes 1 day a week for 30 minutes. That is classroom teacher release time. How often students are in the computer lab in Plymouth-Canton is controlled by the librarian during this "library" time. Then teachers can take their class into the computer lab...and that varies by grade, teacher, and building. Plymouth-Canton elementaries are K-5. That is what I am speaking to. I don't know what 6-8 does. |

I spoke with Mrs. Alles today. She explained that they were working on the "school day" issue this week. She explained that they were determining the minimum general education requirement versus specials. They are looking at how the day will be divided accordingly-40 min periods or 50 min periods. She described a whole proccess that must trickle down from admin to principal to specific teachers and parent focus groups. Since Principals for the 5/6 buildings won't be chosen until later this month, she said that news should come out in March about the student schedules. She added that the frequency of specials previously discussed were "possibilities" She would not commit to the frequency of any special. District transition teams will meet later this month. According to Mrs. Alles they will publish a newsletter within a week of their first meeting. This "Transition Newsletter" will be sent home with our kids. Newsletters will be ongoing. The district website will also have information. I hope that helps. I strongly encourage people who have questions to call them. The telephone seems, to me any way, the only way they will communicate. I have never had an email answered. <_< |

How come when they discuss the kid's schedules or start times or specials or bus ride lengths or anything that has to do with the school day, it's like a puzzle with missing pieces??? Tell me, would you EVER buy a puzzle with missing pieces??? I would not
