Can is already been filled to the rim by the BOE

WHEW!!! Thank goodness!

Anyway, do you know the answer to my Q??? Are they "allowed" to answer our Q's??? Or will they again sit back with their fingers in their........ears and yawn :P

loyaltolivonia, this is not a BOE meeting. This is a community meeting where we will get an update on the current recall/injunction/legal options. No BOE involvement here . . . The next BOE meeting is on Monday 1/16 @ 7:00

I belive this is what the question was - whether or not they can answer us at the BOE meeting - since the vote has been taken and the motion passed can the BOE now respond to questions regarding the LI plan?

I do not know if it was ever illegal or anything like that for them to "not respond" before, and I have no confidence that they will ever respond to any questions regarding the LI in a public forum.

Thanks!

I don't think they'll ever address our concerns in public, either. I just remember Lessard saying they were not "allowed" to answer us. I wonder at the choice of words he used. Were they really not allowed to or did they not WANT to...........scratch that, I think I already know the answer :P

You may have to upgrade to a crock before this is all over.

I believe someone posted on one of the topics, a letter from a BOE member from a different city in Michigan (maybe Rochester?) and from what I recall that BOE member couldn't believe that Mr. Lessard said that it was illegal to respond to the public. Does anyone remember this post?

If I remember it correctly, he said something like we can't sit down and talk to you
like we are having coffee in my kitchen. It just won't work. And something about
a Q & A wouldn't work because it would get unruly. And he said it wasn't legal---which I could never figure out. What is illegal about wanting to know what's going to happen to your kids next year? I have it on tape. I could quote him exactly---if you like.

So who ever speaks at the next board meeting can ask them to answer our questions? Go down the list, its pretty long. Maybe they would answer some? One? I guess its worth a try.
Though they have ignored us this long.

You are forgetting......it's illegal. They would have to call LPD.

Remember, these are televised and give everyone the ability, and the right, to stand up and question the BOE and the City Council on the cause and effects of the LI plan.

My question is-Will they actually be "allowed" to answer us back this time??? In the past, MISTER Lessard said they are not allowed to answer any of our questions. Is this true or is he just using that statement as an excuse to ignore us further.

And why can't they answer our questions??? Is it against the law

Please don't add me to your poop can, Grant1, for asking these questions.

No, it's not against the law. There is a thread on here back about 3 weeks ago. A BOE member(I think from Rochester) qouted Lessard saying that statement was absolutely NOT true.

They don't answer questions at Board meetings. They ALLOW audience communication---and they listen---not sure about that part.

I remember the post. It was Rochester or Rochester Hills. He stated that is in NOT illegal as Mr. Lessard had stated to answer us publically. I think that is just may be in their Bylaws perhaps something about allowing times for Public comments?

Anyone?
