Just saw on Channel 7 news.....Delta Airlines pilots taking a 14% paycut because of financial troubles. I still want to know what our LPS Adminstration makes. It seems like everyone is taking pay cuts these days or at least losing or paying more for healthcare benefits. MMMMMM.....makes me wonder.......... |

We have just begun to fight!
|
So far my employers have not asked us for a paycut, but since we are tier one automotive suppliers and given the sate of the industry I would not be suprised if this actually happened to us. BTW - I have not had a bonus, pay raise, or any form of compensation for over 3 years, and it is all due to the economy since I regularly recieve excellent reviews and letters of praise from my collegues. I have increasingly paid higher bills for everything from health care, co-pays, premiums, insurance, home, car, gas, electric, goods and services, etc... Can anyone in the LPS say the same?..unions, administrators, teachers...if so, let me hear from you now. You have all of our atention, please explain? |

I know that many LPS employees took concessions last year. I think there is a lot more to this picture. There are many ways to cut finances under 1% without taking away from teachers, custodians, para-educators, and so on. Livonia will be paying many, many more bus drivers, and fueling, and insuring, and maintence on these vehicles. Just how much are they going to be making on the 7 mid-city buildings. And who has what to gain. Why so quick, with so little imput. It makes no sense. Where are the figures. What are the numbers. |

My husband works for a GM supplier and has had no bonuses or raises for 4 years. We have no pension, only what we can save on our own. We pay about 75% of our health insurance for a family of 5--that's about $350 additional out of pocket a month. I know we are lucky to be working. But times are tough for cubists, too. Anna Krome |

Same goes here, Anna. My husband works for his brother and there hasn't been a bonus or raise for over 4 years. Times are tough but we are lucky he has a job. |

Personally....I think LPS just wanted to inovative with this whole plan...something different.....and therefore did not want to keep the k-6 model. Can you say NOVI envy??? |

So that when others say "who else has that configuration?" Novi and Livonia will be in the same sentence. A very cheap way to gain prestige-by association. Is this their strategy for addressing declining enrollment? Some have bought this idea and I am sure that the district counted on that. I just hope that many of them will look closer and realize that all we have of Novi is their configuration and nothing else they have put into it.

BOE trustee is a non paid position. Each board member receives a stipend per meeting, but it's not a lot of money, I think someone else on this board said it was $50? |

Someone did mention to me that if I knew what they made it would make me ill. I am trying to be discreet and hope they would post this information. Maybe at another time. This info could be helpful, especially at a time when LPS is supposed to be in such a crisis. |

If these figures are big, I am sure they would stir up some controversy and maybe a little embarassment. |
