The whole city has tried to shoot down the LI!
I don't agree that "whole city has tried to shoot down the" Legacy Initiative. There are still some of us who support it. Read the minutes of the November 21 meeting. There is at least one person in the minutes who supported the 5-6 plan. However, your mostly partisan forum seems to have warped your interpretation of reality.
Our warped interpretation of reality sure seems interesting to you. I am still waiting......for your forum.

Point five: The top of the blog states "this concerns all of us" thus as a community member, expressing the other side's view points is doing nothing wrong. I have conceided points to your side and said if you do not agree, then do not comment. A few words never hurt anyone. Of course I bring the anger of people onto myself, but I can take it. What are people going to do, TP my hosue or threaten me? Real mature and professional. The biggest issue here is that people do not listen to who they elected. The times of less than 10%, and that is probably an overstatement, of people not participating in school board elections have come back to bite all of you who never were involved before this. If you have not been involved in the system one way or another, then do not pretend to know what you are talking about. I do not claim that I know things in which I am not involved in. Read what I say and do not make assumptions. If the way I say things come off the wrong way, then I am sorry, but I am not attacking anyone. Learn to get some tough skin if it hurts you, and for all the "child" talk; why don't we have an inteligent conversation abou this instead of having the naive impression that us students have no idea of what we are talking about. 12:10 PM

That blog is not mine, nor did I type it. The beginnings to my blog are at http://wispofthought.blogspot.com. I started and typed the one article on the blog the same day I found this forum posted it later that night. The idea of creating a blog about the stupid things people have done came to me when I started reading this forum. However, like what happens to most blogs, I never typed up another post. So... if any of you have good ideas of something I could write an article about (see the about section on my blog), send me an email.

Without the Legacy Initiative one of two things will have to happen: (1) cut more activities, jobs, and other items, or (2) raise taxes.
Well written piece, but I'm still not convinced. In response to
(1)-in the business world, when the economy is suffering we do cut jobs, we look to outsource, the successful business gets creative and looks outside the box. You might consider the LI to be creative, I think it was an easy "way out".
(2) Raising taxes will not benefit our school district, remember Proposal A?

ADAMS ELEMENTARY
(on Lyndon betw. Middlebelt/Inkster) 50 years old. In great shape.
What will happen to the acres where Adams now sits?
* Is it being surveyed for new homes/condos? (There is construction now on $300,000+ homes just across Lyndon on Harrison in CB Swim Club's backyard.)
* Will it become a school for troubled Redford children? A "last chance" lockdown sort of place?
* Will it become a new home for Jackson Center?
That's the word on the street. What do you hear?
Anna Krome
Great questions. Anyone have any answers to the Adams questions. or the same type of info regarding other empty schools?

Cindi, just for the record, I do not recommend taxes as an option, but simply wanted to make the point that raising taxes could fix budget problems. However, taxes and outsourcing simply don't fix the problems with declining enrollment. Consolidation of the district will.
P.S. I don't know what you mean when you say Proposal A. Are you talking about this? If so I was a toddler at the time. I have one memory from that far back, seeing my brother for the first time and I am sure I had no care in the world about the local and state government back then.

Well, you better bone-up on Proposal A, 'cause that's one of the main reasons we are all here at this forum...and, if you are going to continue to add your two cents...

I think that blog is YOURS, and you simply just got caught in your foolish statement. To tell you the truth, we really don't care what you have to say. Opposing views are welcome, but yours are just plain.....I'm sorry, I must edit this one for myself. I am still waiting for your great forum supporting the LI.

If you are so smart, and we are so stupid I don't think anyone is going to visit your blog and give you ideas. Your smart enough to come up with them on your own. Don't you think?
