It is their responsibility to effectively manage that $8,200.  I suspect that much of their budgetary crisis is in maintaining their own administrative structure. If Dr. Liepa and Ms. Levesque don't know how to manage that per pupil amount in a manner that is beneficial to the children of LPS maybe they need to look to districts that are doing just that on less money.

Amen!!! ;)

They should have done that in the first place.

For the record, the comment I made was not a malicious one but a factual one...thanks for the considerate editing....(isn't censorship grand?, Who deems what is appropriate or not?) - I do believe that there was not anything in my post that isn't in the papers or on the news at one point or another.

MichiganMom - Trust me if I was your neighbor, I don't think we would have a neighborly relationship....I don't befriend close-minded people like you.
I,unlike you, can have an adult conversation where opinions are exchanged and respected....seems you have a problem with that concept.

I think MichiganMom is right on..... I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY to have her as a neighbor.
Do you know why?..... because she CARES. She care about this community. She cares about her children. She chooses to disagree with a so called "plan" that is being forced down on her. She is active in her community and refuses to be like a lamb to the slaughter.

The real shame in all this is because of this "legacy" plan, we will loose neighbors like her in the long run. We will NO longer be seen as a shining example of what a school system and community should be.

NO ONE will kill my community and Alter my kids education in a NEGATIVE way without resistance.........PERIOD

PS.....hugs to MichiganMom!..... from one of your COMMUNITY neighbors.

You will not find info on AYP and MEAP scores for Catholic and/or Lutheran schools. They are not required to take the MEAP test because they do not receive state funding. Likewise they are not included in NCLB and AYP because they do not receive federal funding.

I do believe that Catholic schools do take the Iowa Test though. Which a form of testing...just not MEAP.

Iowa is superior to MEAP. Ask any teacher currently involved in MEAP.

Me again ...

2 of my neighbors have just listed their homes for sale for the SOLE reason is the Legacy Plan .... One family has FOUR kids in the LPS ... well DID ... and the other has THREE ... add SEVEN more to the list of kids NOT retunring to LPS next year ... and another neighbor who has one son is trying to get him into the same district I am getting my 4 into ... my block has 10 homes on it and not one is planning on keeping their kids in the LPS (some are unsure how exactly they are going to go about it though) and several who dont have kids yet have said they WILL be moving when/if the have school aged kids ... and most of us have been here less than 5 years ...

We were at St. Mike's and St. Damian's for a period. They do take the MEAP test.
Information on scores can probably be found on their websites.

I have been looking for information on the catholic schools in Livonia and most have no info on the web that I can find. I have not found a web site for St. Michale, have you? St. Gen's has almost no information and St. Edith has a little. If you have a web site that I haven't found, can you post it?

Try going to the website for the Archdiocese of Detroit:

http://www.aodonline.org/AODOnline/Schools...hoolLocator.htm

You will find info on all the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. From there,
you can obtain email addresses for the principals. I'm sure if you requested info
on their testing procedures/scores they would accommodate you.

When we were at St. Mike's, the principal gave us the yearly results of all the tests that they take.
