I know voting online has been considered not a good thing.

But, again, printing/signing/mailing could lead to abuses??

How 'bout those absentee ballots?

Need a call to the city clerk--that's their job.

What about putting the petitions online, and letting people sign them and mail the, in?

Not my idea originally, but I like it.

I think this question was misunderstood. Does anyone know if we can print a copy of the petition on-line? People could then sign them (with the old bic) and mail them to a designated address. Is this possible? It would allow for more signatures without hitting the pavement.

The petitions could be posted on-line, downloaded, and signed by the respective registered voters in the school district, but they would have to be collected or dropped off at a manned collection point to be considered as valid.

Yes, Yes.

I was off.

Petitions CAN be downloaded/signed/dropped off.

That is exactly what was done to collect the first 1,400 the BOE scoffed at.

And, getting that many was not all that hard. This can be done and quite handily.

The wording on the recall petition takes a little extra work. Lawyers are looking at it right now. There are several being considered.

The wording has to be good--solid, or the BOE and their attorneys can dispute it.

There's even a book called something like "How to Fight a Recall."

Does anyone have a time line on the petitions?

I am sure you will find out here as soon as they are available - bit of work to do yet since wording on any petition takes time and you have do deal with numerous municipal and state agencies ( think bereaucratic red tape ), as well as lawyers from both sides, to get to a point where the exact wording and format is formalized and approved.

You can always refer everyone to the citizensforlivoniasfuture.com website, I am sure the announcement will be made there as soon as a date can be determined. I'd also imagine that the petitions will be posted as a downloadable document in either .pdf or word .doc so everyone can make as many copies as they can possibly fill, and then some.

We will be sending out an email to everyone who has signed up at the St. Mary's meeting or has emailed lpsproposalsrbad@sbcglobal.net stating you want to help with the petitions. We will be updating everyone with the recall information next week.
