Due to recent postings from bogus users, often nonsense spam and recently moving to more obscene content, I am no longer allowing users to validate themselves. This is an indefinate change and will likely remain in place until I find a better way to allow people to register themselves. I cannot guarantee quick validation at this time, however if you are able to fill out any info to help me distinguish between genuine users and the scum of the earth, that will make your validation more likely. I hate to make this change as it greatly impedes the process of gaining new members, but I think the current users would appreciate a place free of spam, or even worse. |

I'm glad to say I think I've rigged up a more reliable method of approving new users. Before I more or less took a guess, If I seen them on Groundspeak posting I'd let them in, otherwise it was an instant delete. Validating users are restricted to viewing only 2 areas. This announcement section, and the Welcome section. Validating members can not start threads, only reply. There is a thread for them to post a message in to let me know they want in. Once I see it they are approved. |
