i just bought Map Create 7 and have installed it on my Dell inspiron 110. Turned off all virus detectors, and norton . Inatalled it. Got it to put a map on the digital media card, but...... If I tried to open the map with either my computer or the Lowarance is disappeared from the card. Upon looking for files on the memory card it said it was empty??? I have spent 2.5 hours with the people who I bought it from, the guy that spent the time is an computer geek. He tried everything he could, reinstalling etc but the problem persisted, map was on the card, so the E; drive said but when I tried to open the map it disappeared off the card. Any help would be great???? Redbeard |

I solved my own problems with map create. I should say there were several. The first was installing the software. i kept getting a 399 error. After 8-10 installs and unistalls I got it to install. I really looked at my virus software and found I hadn't turned off norton completely, it wants to be on. so number one make absolutely certain all virus preventing solfware is completely turned off. Also make sure you are logged in as admnistrator, it just doesn't want to load in any other mode. Finally, after 45 minutes with the tech at Lowrance she determined the MMC card that came with the software was defective and sent me a new card. It said the new map was loaded on the card but when I tried to open the map it was gone. I tried a new MMC card a sam's MMC SD card 512 MB and it made a map and loaded it onto the card the first tfme. Now when the card is in the GPS a small black icon of an MMC card flashes at the lower right of the screen and a black border shows around the area I mapped. Hope this helps the next one having trouble. This is by far the "buggiest" software I have used. Redbeard |

I'm glad to hear you got it working. I tried today to install MapCreate on my new Laptop, and I had a similar problem, maybe the same one. (I forgot the error number.) You may have just solved it. Same here on the "Buggy" part, it works good when it works. |
