I just purchased the latest Mapcreate on DVD and having to put the CD in all the time is a pain and I worry about scratching it. Would you please send me the work around?

You'll be the first to try it with the DVD Let us know if you can adapt it and make it work.

Info sent.

Airmapper,
I just bought an Ifinder Expedition C and the MapCreate7 USA TOPO Version. I could also use the workaround so I don't have to insert the DVD. Sure do appreciate it.

Got an email back from Owen. He was unable to get the DVD image for MC 7.0 to work correctly. If anyone has any other info for us all, we're all ears :D

:( Well, not only does the workaround not work for the DVD, you can't even make a backup copy of your original DVD and use it. MapCreate7 recognized the copy as such and would not work with it. Arrrggg.

S.C.S.,
I am using the procedure that ntw sent you.  Works great.  I also have no desire to trash my original CD.  I travel w/ my laptop a lot, and make small map areas for each city I visit, so lots of MapCreate running.

This may or may not be a grey area (how's that for a vague, grey answer   ), but I can articulate to Lowrance my reasoning and the safeguards I have in place to ensure the software is not used against the licensing agreement.

That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside  :D  :ph43r:

Could you email me the prcedure for the Mapcreate? I did it on my laptop quite awhile ago and now want to put in on my desktop, but have forgot all of the steps and cant find my paperwork

Thanks, Don

Any chance I can get the work around. I'm using version 7 and I see that a couple people tried and couldn't get it working. However, if you don't mind, I would like to give it a shot.

Many thanks.
