Wow, the first Non-Administrative member!! I really hope this develops into a resource that people visit frequently. It is laid out very well, and I used the information in the previous site to run my first GSAK conversion. Nice job, Airmapper. As for me, I've recently taken ownership of an iFinder Explorer Plus within just the past few weeks. Only used it on one cache so far, but it worked splendidly and I have had it out walking around and in the car some. You really have to spend some time with it as it has so many features. I consider myself to be the type of person that will do exhaustive research on a purchase like this, and the iFinder really boiled to the top of my list. In addition to the iFinder, I'm a little bit of a gadget geek, I suppose. I own an Asus A716 Pocket PC that is becoming a little long in the tooth, but still does everything I want it to so I have no intention to upgrade. I also own three additional GPS receivers -- a Haicom HI-303III and Haicom HI-303S compact flash receivers for the Pocket PC, a Haicom bluetooth slipper to use them wirelessly, and an eXplorist 100 that bridged the gap between not wanting to trash a Pocket PC in the woods and the iFinder. I use GSAK and GPXSonar and Mapopolis and have tried or own a bunch of other things. The iFinders duties are limited to geocaching, hunting, camping and any other off-road activities. I heard about the new site from geocaching.com |

Thanks for putting up a site for us Lowrance users. I Own a iFinder Pro which I use for snowmobiling, wilderness camping, hunting as well as geocaching. Its actually my wife that chose this GPS. She was shopping for my birthday and thought that I would like a GPS. She did the research herself and chose the iFinder Pro. To this day I beleive she did a great choice. I love the ease of operation of the unit as well as all the features that are available from it. Looking foward to sharing information on this site. Thank you. hornethunter |

Hey everyone! Nice to be back with you Airmapper. Thanks for the past support and advice on my purchase and use of my 600c. Haven't had it in the air yet, but works great for cachin'. Just orderd a comfort bike and am in the process of working out the handle bar mount. Everything came with the unit except a small U clamp. I will order Monday. Also got the trailer hitch bike carrier. The family loves this new hobby. By the way GSAK rocks. I went out 32 miles and loaded 278 waypoints. I'll update every week or so and all my X's will turn to diamonds. There is so much customization that can be done. I just love to play. I would really recommend a Lowrance to anyone. Got several WAAS locks in my back yard without the ext antenna. I'll keep an eye here and see if I can't learn a few tricks or possibly share one or two myself. STRAUBMAN |

hello lowrance peeps! glad to see a forum for lowrance gps users! hope tjis becomes a very active forum site! i hope to contribute to this site as much as possible( not much more than two pence worth). i finally did get my iway 100m to function. it took four days of camping( music festival) and not much of anything else to finally figure how it worked. but i had it running from trumansburg, ny to ithaca to nj, then back to nyc. added a couple of waypoints and will be checking it out. my next goal is to work on my M&M. best to all! |

Greetings. I'm from southeastern Minnesota area. Pretty new to geocaching and GPS in general. Very fascinated with the technology. I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, woodworking, my gps and splitting firewood. My wife got me an iFinder H2O for father's day. So far I love it. I work with computer networks and it's related areas. |

Thanks for creating this forum! I've read quite a bit over the last few days. Now I'm just waiting for my Lowrance iFinder Explorer to arrive (hopefully before the weekend). |

Fantastic site!! Found my way here from geocaching.com forums. I've always had a facination with navigation (not good at it, just facinated) and managed to keep from getting lost too bad with a topo and compass...but this GPS technology is great. Had a Magellan 2000XL given to me a few years back and used it a lot when hunting and hiking and then discovered geocaching. Saw the forums at geocaching.com and thought that Magellan and Garvin were the only ones being used until I stopped by a new outdoors store a couple of months ago. Saw an iFinder H20 and liked the price and had used Lowrance depth finders for years so I got it. Absolutely love it and it does everything that I want it to do and more. Been using GSAK and am 100% happy with the whole set up so far. Especially since picking up some tips and tricks here. Thanks for a great site and I look forward to being a member of it. |

I think I got here by following a link provided by AirMapper over at Groundspeak. I"m a Ham Radio operator (WR8Y) in central Georgia and avid Hiker. I also think I'm a gadget nut... I have used an eTrex, but now own an Expedition Color with MapCreate 6.3 Topo. I love the outdoors and my avatar is taken from the cover of Jethro Tull's HEAVEY HORSES album from the 70's. |

Hi, my name's Kristin and I've been caching since mid-June. I was running an eXplorist 210, but lost it last weekend
My husband was kind enough to squeeze some room in the budget for me to get a new GPSr right away. I did some shopping around (and reading here, got the link from Airmapper's posts at Groundspeak) and decided on an iFinder. I got a great deal on an iFinder Pro Plus through Amazon. It got here Saturday and I've been having fun learning it since then. |

Hi everyone. Was aware of GPS but never had any experence with it until a friend of mine offered to let me use his Lowrance GPS for my yearly fishing trip to Canada. Had so much fun with it that 2 weeks ago, 2 days after I got back, I bought a IFinder H2O along with the Canada Topo. The card reader was DOA but the Lowrance tech I talked to on the phone handled it well, seemed to know what she was doing, and now I'm waiting for the new reader to arrive. Wasn't even aware of caching until I started looking around the internet. Don't know if I will be interested or not in doing that. Sounds like it could be fun. As someone said in an earlier post I joined for the "tips and tricks". Mameigwess |
