(The next few days will be extra-absorbing for me, which is why I'm posting the thread earlier than expected.) Tomorrow evening contains a unique milestone for Titans fans: GO's initial anniversary (4/23/2013). Early 2013 created much anticipation and speculation over the various directions GO would take, plus whether characters (and their voice actors) from the 2003 series would return. As the first season is nearly ending, fans can now properly gauge the series, or dealing with "the lay of the land," etc. In which case, what are your impressions of GO, one year later? Did the series meet, surpass or, perhaps, lower certain expectations you may have made? Moreover, how did you feel about the then-impending arrival of GO: excited, anxious, curious or all of the above? Opinions can certainly change year-to-year (or not), so please share yours with the board. If not, then enjoy or savor the rush that comes from a more unique form of nostalgia: the what might have beens in the past. My own commentary or opining will be done on a future post.

The only thing that impressed me was getting the old VA team back. Everything else has been mediocre, with occasional funny moments. I like it, in a way, but it's not a favorite. The show shoots itself in the foot every week, yet somehow survives. It's nice to see the team living on, but it's like watching them after a nasty car accident. They know nothing of their life prior to the accident, aside from what some others have told them, so they make the best they have with their new life, but it's hardly a shadow of the life they once led. It's hard not to support an old friend, despite their trying to alienate you at every turn. |
