The episode where the Titans did things. Robin was annoying, Cyborg yelled a lot, and Raven glowered harder than usual. Plot may or may not have had a movement, but it's hard to tell with this series. Best you'll get is a continuity error. No character growth, as usual. Don't let them fool you, if it did, it was negated by the end of the episode. |

Summary: dur hur Titans getting hurt is funny. Also, Cyborg's song was so, so terrible. Edited by Sparky 2.0, Mar 20 2014, 11:37 AM.

I already addressed that in the preview thread, but yeppers. I liked the episode more than I should, as the Pain Bot/Cyborg sequences were both funny and yet quite emotionally manipulative during the parting scenes. However, at least, said emotional manipulation was done with a slight wink and a nod, given the sheer absurdity of the situation. And yet, that might be the closest the recent episodes ever displayed "heart," which is one of the series' many key flaws. (If the show actually had heart, instead of jerks acting out random scenes after another, then I can live with all the flaws.) And it is nice to finally address the other "pets" the GO Titans have gotten over the course of the series, so the episode is somewhat worth it for that. And thank God someone finally pointed out about Raven's demon nature or her side demon pets in a somewhat negative sense, which rarely happens in GO. (Then again, the more dramatic counterparts go there repeatedly, especially the comics, so I can't be too critical.) And yes, would have been nice if John DiMaggio reprised Blood, but oh, well, what can you do? And DiMaggio is a really busy boy, so. Also, about Cyborg's singing, is that Phyton really can't sing, or he can but he has to sing terribly as that's part of the gag? The latter doesn't apply to Cipes, yet things would have been way more amusing if true. |

I really think it's a matter of the songs themselves don't work for him, not to mention that he is trying to stay in character and messing it up. It feels like he's trying too hard. |
