Gonna post some info on some of the stones i've been researching and have made friends with recently... love them all..

not too long ago, i posted about a stone that intrigued me...moldavite.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moldavite

metaphysical property..
As a Stone of Connectivity, Moldavite carries an intense frequency, a fusion of earthly and extraterrestrial energies that are quickly felt, often dramatically in those who resonate with its power...

Moldavite has a rich history, prized since the Stone Age and used not only for arrowheads and cutting tools, but as a spiritual talisman and amulet of good fortune, fertility and protection. It was found in the archeological site of the Venus of Willendorf, the oldest known Goddess statue, and has been linked to legends of the Holy Grail, thought to be an emerald that fell from the sky out of Lucifer's crown before he was cast from Heaven. In Czech lore, it was given as a betrothal gift to bring harmony to marital relations, and for centuries has been used in jewelry, religious items and for spiritual transformation.

Moldavite is a useful stone for star children and sensitive souls who find it difficult being in incarnation on the earth, and who cannot adjust to suffering and deep emotions. Placed on the heart, Moldavite uncovers the reasons and purpose for why one is here, and eases the "homesickness" for those whose origin is not Earth..

loads of info at that link above... plus pix at the bottom.. Lots of online info too - known sometimes as the Philosopher's stone or Grail stone..

it's a very pretty stone...glassy - and easy to talk to. I became acquainted with it quickly..lol.

next stone - tibetan turquoise.. i love turquoise and love that this is from the himalayas.. i feel very 'whole' when wearing turquoise...

loads of awesome info (tibetan archeologist) at the following link...beginning mid way down the page
http://www.tibetarchaeology.com/august-2013/

next stone - larimar -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larimar

Larimar, found only in the Dominican Republic, is a stone of "answers from the sea of consciousness." The blue color of the larimar reflects the "sea" of all consciousness, which gives freedom from self-imposed limitations and a sense of peace in finding truth.

story of larimar - http://www.vinow.com/st-thomas/the-story-o...-caribbean-gem/

havent made friends with this one yet - but have one on the way... am looking forward to getting to know it better...

last one for now is tanzanite...it is the main stone of my new ring..

Tanzanite is a stone of transmutation, shifting from lilac-blue to sapphire blue and into deep blue-violet. In faceted form it is stunning, celebrated as the Gemstone of the 20th Century and first promoted by the New York jewelers, Tiffany & Co. who created magnificent pieces to showcase this stone.

It is one of the most valuable of all metaphysical crystals for spiritual exploration, bringing together all aspects of communication and psychic power. Its high vibrational energy invites protection and safety in linking with higher realms, and allows for deep profound meditation. It is particularly helpful in uniting the mind and heart, teaching one to live from a compassionate heart with an illumined mind. [Melody, 634][Hall II, 335-336][Simmons, 392]

Tanzanite is relatively rare and costly, occurring in only one place in the world, the Merelani Hills in Tanzania, East Africa. It was discovered in 1967 and is named for its country of origin.
https://www.crystalvaults.com/crystal-encyclopedia/tanzanite

Tanzanite awakens your capacity to connect with higher states of consciousness, states of being beyond the fifth dimensional realm.

Most or at least many of the stones i have explored this yr have been said to be rare and found in only their said location...

Cool stones! :D

I go to the rock and mineral show every year, and sometimes pick up some nice ones.

One of the cool local stones here in Oregon is a Jelly Opal. I have a piece similar to this one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/14833125@N02/...57603633469506/

Here's a picture of my Jelly Opal and Reptile Skin Agate:

Posted Image

The Reptile Skin Agate is Agate stone that formed inside a reptile skin. My brother found the Reptile Agate in Washington State when we were little kids. I've never seen another Reptile Agate ever, and I'm sure it is extremely rare.

wow, those are really nice... never saw anything like either one... the reptile one is wild... kinda shaped like a frog... awesome rocks... Love that jelly opal - the colors must be awesome in different lights...

i have a herkimer diamond on my desk (quartz from herkimer ny)...it has rainbow inclusions in it depending how the light hits it. Herkimers are very clear for quartz - have always loved them. i bought it a long time ago at some health expo or show of some kind...
