A friend, her son and myself are going on a vitrified rock outcrop
hunt tomorrow, inspired by GLP!
Well, inspired by a thread on GLP, which was questioning the presence
of these vitrified rock outcrops in Scotland which still have not been
adequately explained, ie- nobody has explained what could have
vitfrified these rocks or how/when. [ I think. lol]

Anyway, I'm gonna take pics for sure and possibly video.

I haven't chosen which site we're going to yet- my friend can't help
with that part as her internet is down.

Wish me luck. :D

Thank you, lbl!

Of course, there's no guarantee I will be within driving distance
of any outcrops and may not be able to buy enough petrol
to get to one, so this may turn into a fossil hunt, or something
completely different. lol

Ok, I've found a site which is relatively close at hand = doable.

I've done this kind of thing before though, and I don't expect
anything spectacular, so it's probably a good thing there
are around other 40 sites of cultural interest in the
surrounding area.

Ranging from Pictish settlements, Pictish standing stones,
to hill forts [possibly buried? *shrug*] etc.

So, I'll probably come back with pictures of *something*!

Oops.

The weather let us down, lbl!

I'll report back when I finalize the details of our next, rescheduled expedition!
