I received this email from Manataka this morning. As you know, Manataka seldom asks our wonderful members, supporters and readers for assistance. Now we must. For the first time in history, a large association of religious leaders from across the country has opened its doors to learn more about American Indian Spiritual beliefs. Manataka has been invited to give 16 hours of intense lecture. Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish religious leaders will for the first time formally recognize American Indian spiritual beliefs and will actively work to find ways to honor the ancient traditions. This is an opportunity for people of all walks of faith, especially ministers and chaplains, to correct genocidal policies of the past, open their hearts and minds to all children of the Creator, and forge a new path for the sake of our children’s children. It is our hope and prayer that this program will serve as a template for more presentations to a broader audience of religious leaders, lay persons and the public. The value and far-reaching social and religious affects of this project are enormous. I have only one thing to say about this, "Proceed with extreme caution!" I can see the good that could come of this, but knowing organized religion like I do...... I shudder to think that they would use these sacred beliefs to revitalize the cash cow of the church. I have heard there could be news coming soon that will shake the foundations of the church and cause everyone to re-evaluate their belief system, but history dictates it has been and always will be about two things, control and the money. I will send up many prayers on this. Griz

Interesting, Griz. I think it is an honor to be recognized to speak at this. And it could be that it is an opportunity to share something that will inspire the heart of some - maybe all - maybe none, maybe one, but it is an opportunity to speak to many in a good way and with an open heart. As far as the larger indication, it could also be a move to organize a Native American church which would cross the line with what I believe would be against the good way. Organization employs politics and yes power/control - soon come greed and money and bla bla bla. This is not to say that religion does not have a place in the world. For many, it offers hope. For me, it confines...and even disappoints for a host of reasons that I've stated above. I have heard some younger Native Americans here and there speak of organizing a church. There could be a movement to do so, if more agree with this. The ones who hold traditional beliefs do not go for the idea whatsoever - as far as I can tell. What I find intriguing is talk of how to blend the ways of tradition with current times. I am very open and interested in hearing more of this. Above all, it is the spirituality and love that is most important.. My thoughts and heart are this - if we treat entirety with love and respect, there is no need for a structure to represent this - all would be held sacred. And prayer would be each word we say - each word that comes from our mouth would be like prayer and blessing. This way is a challenge, but a good one, IMO. After many years of study, I think there are golden chords of religion that have long been buried. The corrupt ones have overshadowed the love. |

This could be a wonderful opportunity and I am not saying that it shouldn't happen. I am saying that the little hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I read this and I feel it would be wise to proceed with due care and caution. We live in very interesting times. Griz

I trust and respect the little hairs on the back of your neck standing up telling you something about this. It is a good sign to be wide-eyed and aware. I will hope the talk is a good one - and they leave out discusssions on how to become more powerful with money and such things. |

Exactly right! There's only one outcome of the above, the marginalization of the Truth by consensus. It's one of Lucifer's favorite tactics. |

The absolute coolest thing about the Native American spiritual belief is the only thing you have to join is the Creator. No million dollar architecture to support, only the earth mother, no priests, preachers or deacons, just elders with a bonafide interest in the great circle of life and where we all fit, no expensive choir, just nature's song or the sound of words from the heart to the Creator, no thriving throng, just family or relatives, no tithe, gifts or love offerings, but true acts of compassion and love. Every man, woman and child on this planet is fully equipped to have a wonderful, loving relationship with the Creator, no additional purchase required. When I want to talk to God, I talk, when he talks back, I shut up and listen. When I want to go to church, I step outside. Need fellowship, I go to work or a ball game or play with my kids or invite folks over. Learn of or see someone that's hungry or sick, I feed them or pray for them or both. I once asked a Baptist preacher, "Do you want to spread the good news to those that really need it?" He said, "absolutely!" I said, "Then you keep the doors of this church open 24/7. And every morning at 2:am when they close the bars you start ringing this here bell and offer free breakfast and the people will come. The drunks, the lonely, and the lost, will fill this church every night within a month." He just smiled and patted me on the shoulder and said, "you know we really couldn't possibly do that, right?" "I would lose my entire congregation because of the scandal that would follow something like that." I looked at him and smiled and said, "I understand." I was the only law enforcement Officer in that little town with 3 bars. I gave a holy man an opportunity to put me out of business. Instead he forced me to always keep my cruiser doors open, and keep an extra thermos of coffee just in case, give an occaisional ride home, or sometimes to the county lock-up if conditions warranted, but that was an hour drive and caused me to miss someone that needed someone to talk to or call for a ride home, or help finding their clothes. I understood alright. Griz

Exactly! And THAT is the reason the Native Americans needed extermination. All "recognized" religions of the world do everything in their power to mealy mouth the above while making the followers cow tow to the "experts"/"clergy". It's ALL about spiritual control, the most important control of ALL to Lucifer.

"Mahto Hota, Yes you are correct in the assumption that there will be those who will seek to monopolize on our sacred beliefs to benefit organized religions. But, remember they have always had the opportunity to do so and have failed for hundreds of years --- why? Because the basic tenets of organized religions are diametrically opposed in many instances to our ways and they cannot find a good way to utilize our ways least they give up their own. News of their demise is actually quite old. Whereas, our ways are enduring and their dogma and doctrines were doomed from the beginning. We thank you for your good, strong words and prayers." ~Yonv
