Densha de Go! Plug n Play; Anyone thinking of getting it? (or perhaps already got it?)

It seems Station chimes are not included due to licensing issues.

Just received the updated unit, it now plays a lot better than before.

There was a charge of 31€ that neither DHL or Amazon did want to refund :'(

In any case, the update was worth every penny.

Excellent!! Shame about the customs costs :( but glad to hear it made it back safe!

I got mine today too! With that lovely little 1.13 on the title screen:

I dived into the Yamanote Line diagram 2 section 2, and success - no more Ebisu crash! :D

It also seemed to feel smoother - didn't get a chance to play any of the busier routes yet, but I'm excited to play more later!

Pretty awesome of them to pick it up and send it back for free (except for customs :X ), and a two-week door-to-door turnaround was fantastic! Super happy I sent it in, and can't wait to tuck back in! :D

EDIT: I've played quite a few routes now, and it's definitely smoother! Still a bit of slowdown here and there, but noticably better than before. I super recommend the upgrade to anyone on the fence - quick, painless, and a significant update!

Hi,

If anyone can compare the 2 versions Densha de Go Final ps2 vs plug and play?
(I mean technically)

I also heard that the controller is a lot smaller than the type 2

I was hoping that it will be a decent port, but from what you guys experienced, I guess I'm better off with my PC versions and PC controller.

FWIW I think after the upgrade it's definitely a decent (good, even!) port - as someone who didn't have another way to play Final, I'm very happy with it! :)

I don't have a Type 2 but Plug&Play is 25x15cm

VS the PS2 edition it's a lot better (minus the missing station tunes)... looks really great on a HD tv in comparisson.

For those who have the PC controller this edition would not add anything of value to their experience unless you want an easy/portable way to play on a TV.

Kinda off-topic, I guess, but have you guys seen that they've added a new line to the arcade game? I believe it's the Chuo Sobu line if I'm not mistaken.

Like, damn, we REALLY need a PS4/ PC port of that game...

Totally agree.. that game would sell if they did bring a port of that over to PS4.. I'm hoping they do.

In a few years, once they have a bit more content (remember the lines are not complete in the arcade, there's only a section from the yamanote for example) we might have a domestic release... for now, there's not much content and they are getting a lot of money from the arcade plays...

Did any of you people ever run across this? I thought this was interesting.. it's got the arcade markings but not sure if it's some sort of model or.. not sure what it is..
