So, they just posted an update regarding the crashes: https://www.taito.co.jp/corporate/topics/news/3071 |

It seems the plan is to upgrade the device? As I understand, they say saved date will not be erased... |

I had a colleague translate the latest message from Taito. It sounds like this will be a physical product recall, not a software update that can be applied over your own PC. I wonder what that means for international customers... |

As long as we purchased it through amazon, we shall have no problems... at least to get a refund as last resort. Regarding upgrade, if we really have to send them to Taito, for all us outside Japan, I think we can forget about that. |

My DDG PnP controllers arrived today. Seeing as I bought them via deputy-service there won't be any chance in my case to send them back and switch them out if Taito decide to replace the units with new ones. Time to hook up that Ps2.. |

Well, either way, those of us that ordered direct via Amazon Japan (and maybe also those who used third-party services) should definitely keep an eye on out for any further developments. Unusually Japanese companies tend to value their costumers quite a lot, so mybe we'll be able to get a replacement eventually. And maybe they'll also add station tunes to make up for the troubles... (I can dream, okay?!) |

Well, if they not work properly and can't be switched out they'll only be kept as a novelty. The question is if Taito will realease new ones or if they only will replace faulty ones, having customers sending them back. Let's not hope for the later. |
