I know it's a bit late, but here it's how it works:

You have to go to yahoo auctions Japan and find it. Then you have to find a Japanese representative, who will win the auction for you (I'm using http://www.m-world-service.com/ , but there is plenty and use whichever you think is the best for you). And after a week or two, you will have it at home. But I would suggest you getting a PC controller instead.

Hi Mike,

I'm using only Playstation 2 for the games though and I assume that a standard PC USB one wouldn't work?

Also it appears that the Type 2 will work with TrainSimulator as well; really enjoying those games at the moment :)

Let me know

No, the PC controllers aren't compatible with console versions, and vice versa.

Which is what I thought; so the search for a Type 2 continues!

It's up to you. Type 2 might be even cheaper than PC controller, but on PC you can play all the PS2 Densha de Go games in a higher resolution, plus you have the Densha de Go Shinkansen which was released on Wii. With Type 2 you can only play the PS2 titles, while with PC controller you can play the whole range of Densha de Go. Anyway, if you still want the Type 2 controller, you will still need to look on Yahoo auctions Japan.
