Hello everybody,

I was wondering if it's possible to use the controller "densha de go type 2 ps2" on a computer.

With the USB connection of this controller, maybe someone have find some drivers.

To be honest I think that it would be easier to plug in standard ps1 type controller through adapter than to find the drivers for Type 2. I've searched a lot on the net for drivers and had absolutely no luck with it...

ok, so here's what you should try.
1. After connecting your DDG controller to PC through PS1 to PC adaptor, check if it gets recognized as a gamepad.
2. If it gets recognized, google the application that maps gamepad keys as a keyboard keys.
3. Set it up according to keys used in PC DDG games.
4. Play.

The only point it can all fail is no. 1. If it is not getting recognized as a gamepad, you won't be able to do much about it.

I don't think that Type 2 will work on PC at all. I've tried to plug it to my Vista, and it said "Trying to download preset drivers for TAYTO_DEN1 controller" and after a while it said Failed to Install Human Interface Device and that I should contact manufacturer.

Well, if noone made the driver we are screwed.

If anyone in here can speak Japanese, then there is a hope for us, as I can't google anything that is in Kana.
Probably some crazy Japanese fan made it.

I did a little research (using google translate :) ) and according to Japanese Yahoo answers there is no driver for it to work in Windows. So maybe someday someone will write the driver for Type 2, but it is just as possible as the option that Taito will release Densha on the West.

But have you tried to just use it without the mapping buttons? If you want to use the controller in densha de go! PC games, you have to enable it in settings. As far as I remember there are 2 types of controllers in settings except keyboard. Maybe it'll work for you.

@febas - the PC densha games have their own line of controllers (mostly USB, but also one using the old PC gameport). I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to get a controller with a Playstation connector to work via a USB adapter, as the PC game just won't recognise it.
