![]() OK GUYS, today we touch on the inside view of the cockpit from what i already know, and what i have already learned. first, on the top left of the screen there are little yellow boxes that appear. why the hell do i keep getting a big x after a few seconds?,you ask. well this is your control tower/co pilot talking with you, basically to confirm, simply hit the triangle button when these appear. second, you have four boxes,2 purple(top),and 2 white(bottom), the box on top left tells your speed that you should abide by,as for the bottom one, your speed of the aircraft.the purple on the top right,is the altitude you should abide by,and the bottom white box is the altitude you are at presently.at different views the instruments are the same. basically this is the instrument part of the cockpit. ![]() the instrument on the right side of this view(under your thrust meter),i am almost positive that this is where you see wind direction and speed of wind.on the left side of the cockpit is your magentic compass, basically your dirction, and will also show your flight course.(remember to stay on course or game will be over) the pink line is your direction in which you need to go.the top of the triangle on the compass is the nose of your plane. above where the 130 is loacated, actual distance from airport. its sort of import friendly, menus do feature english text, which is a big help instead of guessing what is what. there are plenty of flights i might add,per airport you choose to takeoff from. around 15 or so.i haven't gone through one entire flightplan on one airport yet,as i have a few more flights to go.also note that i haven't been asked to save my progress yet except for the begining of the game when i first started it.which is not a big deal, seeing as i will play this game pretty solid for a few months before i decide to play something else. for the fun factor in the game, definitly a good pick me up game.whether you play 20 minutes or 3 hours, the games graphics are pretty good as well.the night time flights are really nicely done,as are one of my favorite scenerios in the game.there is really about a 7-10 second load time between flights, but nothing too major. http://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/images/20...6_screen002.jpg you may see a similar screen in the game that looks like this after takeoff, and ascending to approximate destination.it will read in the bottom corner, now crusing.this is just getting you on course to your destination airport.in the first 2 modes of play-automatic,and manual, this screen will happen every time.for the last level,i would imagine that there is no "now crusing" screen and have to position yourself manually.i will add to this as i play on the hard level. http://www.taito.co.jp/d3/cp/jet_pocket/img/vis-top.jpg as for making announcements to the passengers,i don't think so,i do know if you do play on easy mode and see exactly the flight pattern of what the pilot does in easy(co-pilot mode) you will see that your inital speed should be 213 coming into the runway, with your thrust power around 33-37%---play the automatic a few times, and if you dare, try the manual mode,i myself am still playing on the automatic mode right now. GAMEPLAY: 8.9 GRAPHICS: 9.1 REPLAY VALUE: 10.0 ALL BASED ON MY PERSONAL OPINION ENJOY THIS GAME AS IT IS A GOOD FLIGHT SIM! |

Nice review and thanks for the translation tips, couple more questions if I may; 1. On the Options, Control screen what are the two options ? (left option is default) 2. Once you've made a landing, can you translate what the 6(?) breakdowns of the 100 points are 3. On the in game pause menu, first option is continue, what is the third one ? sorry so many questions, oh and Manual is the way to go, you'll crash lots initially but after a while Automatic is too restrictive. Thanks. |

It looks quite good but with 4 Pocket Railway games on order (includes the Taito Chuo and the new Train Simulator due out end of Jan), Densha Ryohoujen for PS2 I think "her indoors" patience would wear thin if I order anything else. There is a similar product coming out in March I believe, called Pilot Academy, which is a conversion of a JP pocket game by our old friends at Kuju. However Jet de Go (and Tokyo Bus Guide 2 for PS2) are on my shortlist for later in the year. |
