Excellent news! I hope the gameplay will be a little better than on the current one. I LOVE the full-motion video and sound of TS, but I have to admit the game play on the Densha de Go Yamanote PSP is better (I'm hoping we can have the best of both worlds in the next version of TS).

It looks like they are dropping the "Densha de Go" aspect of the game. I wonder what that will mean for gameplay... more sophistocated?

It's going to be pretty much like the mobile train simulator section of m.t.s & d.d.g.

M.t.s & d.d.g was a partial port of the 2003 ps2 version, and that was a one off that contained both games. Now that Sqare Enix basically owns Taito, they might not want to offer their d.d.g licence to Ongakukan again.

I hope any future densha de go! games for any formats will continue to use the chain system, but wouldnt want it for the Train Simulator series as i like that to be as realistic as possible.

I like the way the two games have different appeals with densha de go! for gameplay and Train Simulator for scenary/atmosphere.

The games rrp had originally been quoted at quite a high price, due to the amount of data that would be needed to produce the game on a umd.

Due to new technology, the production costs have been lowered and the new rrp is 5,090 Yen.

I wonder what they mean by "new technology." I hope the game quality doesn't suffer (i.e., less content or greater video compression).

Here's the full translation (via babel fish translation)......

November 8th It is the Mobile Train Simulator Keisei capital barracks Asakusa capital urgent line which presently is in the midst of ardent producing, but this title because the data quantity becomes enormous, at the beginning UMD2 had planned the sale with group. But data quantitative problem solved this time, with the development of new technology, the goal which makes the sale with 1 group possible was in sight. Because of this because it is possible, to reduce production cost, in order that it restores to everyone of the user, the usual price range (including tax 5,040 Yen) it revised. To seek please expectation in the Mobile Train Simulator Keisei capital barracks Asakusa capital urgent line which it becomes easy.
