Unbalance, publishers of the Densha De Go! series for home computers in Japn, have a playable demo of Jet De! Go! 2 available to download. Definitly worth a play if you are interested in the forthcoming Sony psp game, Jet De Go! Pocket. Jet De Go! 2 playable demo.

Tried this demo and thought it was a bit simple and looked a little rough.. due to not able to change the screen resolution, but like the train sims, it has that little X-factor.... I'm looking forward to the PSP release. |

I think alot of people will be unhappy with Jet de go! pocket! I've got Jet de go! 2 for ps2 with the official controller and while i love it (although its very flawed and simplistic), my friends and people i've spoke to on other forums, hate it! It's very much a chillout game, you can be in the air for 2 odd hours with nothing much to do and thats what puts people off it. |

When I was in Japan in 1994 I played an arcade game called "Top Landing" which was very cool. You started on final approach and you had to land (no boring in-flight stuff!). You never knew which way the wind was going to blow, so you had to constantly compensate for it, plus make as soft a landing as possible. You could choose from a variety of airports and each had different weather conditions (rain, fog, etc.). It had stewardess announcements in Japanese, plus other realistic sound effects. I don't think they ever released a version for home consoles, which is really disappointing. I searched Google and didn't find a whole lot, but here's a page that has some info and screen shots: http://emustatus.rainemu.com/games/topland.htm |

Well I've just ordered Jet de Go for PS2 and Pocket! As a big fan of MS Flight Sim I enjoy chilling in a big jet and when I saw the PS2 version includes a DC10 I just had to have it. Obviously it's not going to have the physics of MSFS but one assumes it is better than the simplistic flight model in GTA San Andreas which had you driving a plane like a car. |

For the PSP version, (which I own a copy) the game playtime is reduced. You no longer fly the cruising stage of the flight. You only have to take the plane on take-off until the cruising altitude & speed then the game will load the approach & landing game. So the PSP version is a shortened version of the normally long PS2 game. |
