Hi Butch, Haven't been around for a few weeks so I've only just seen this thread. Best of luck in Japan. I'm well impressed that you already make a living from Ebay. I don't see how you can fail once you get to Japan with such a huge source of supply. As yamanote says though the trick is to find the backstreet shops with cheaper prices. As a tourist with not too much time i mostly had to stick to the main street in Akihabara (but still found some bargains). I was only in Tokyo for a few days but I loved it and fully intend to go back again in next year or two. Don't forget to make time for some leisure trips - the Enoden line for example. I found Tokyo quite hard work for somebody that didn't speak or read japanese but it is by no means impossible. Try and make a couple of friends quickly - even if the friendship is quite slight - I found 5 days with nobody to really talk to and limited familiar references was quite alienating. On my last day I went and ate in TGI Fridays just to feel 'at home' - sad eh ? As another business venture perhaps you could offer guided tours of the games shops for those westerners that do make it out there. Paul |
