Argentate was forced away from Aquofim to fight the dragon. He shoved it out of the way to try to get back to Aquofim, but there was some sort of barrier that stopped him from getting towards her. He reasoned that the silhouette must have used a shield spirit in order to block him from getting in.

The dragon turned to face him. Argentate could not help Aquofim by fighting side-by-side, but it did take some magic energy for this silhouette to summon spirits. The larger the spirit, the more energy it took to summon one. The more spirits Argentate defeated, the more the silhouette would have to summon, and thus the less magic she would have to fight Aquofim. That was the way Argentate decided to help Aquofim, but he knew that it wouldn't be easy. He was used to fighting with her, but he knew that he needed to be alone and figure out how to fight without her backing him up.

The dragon flew at Argentate who quickly jumped over the dragon, and the dragon crashed into the barrier. It got back up and breathed fire at him. Argentate flapped his wings with a mighty gust of air that blew the fire back towards the dragon. It did not harm the dragon because of his scales. Argentate burst through the smoke that had followed the fire and body slammed the dragon, bowling it over. Silver feathers flew off of Argentate, and he slashed at the dragon's soft underbelly. He knew that if he tried to get from above, it would not be harmed by his claws because its scales were hard.

The dragon did not let the griffin's claws reach it. It kicked Argentate, and then smacked him with its massive tail. It tried to hit him again with its tail, but Argentate used his beak to jab into the tail. The dragon roared in pain, and Argentate tackled it and forced it to the ground. He began to charge his lightning breath. The dragon rolled to the side knocking away Argentate so that the lightning breath missed it. It slashed at him, and he blocked with his own claws. It then bit Argentate on the neck and forced him to the ground. Argentate was struggling to get away. It had a death grip on him.

Argentate was flapping wildly, feathers going every which way. Then he felt heat, the dragon was going to bun him alive with fire. At the last second, Argentate used all of his strength to flap his wings. The force of the wind caused by his massive wingspan was enough to blow the dragon away as its jaw had to realease its grip. Flames spewed from its mouth but on singed Argentate as it was blown backwards. The wind finally stopped, but Argentate was ready and blew a charged electricity ball at the dragon. It electrocuted it and knocked it on its side. Argentate then slashed again and again on its underbelly, killing it. Argentate felt his bleeding neck and called out to Aquofim to heal it. She did so because magic could go through, just not actual beings.

The silhouette summoned more monsters for him to face. With the one dragon, it was quality of the enemy that was good. With these new ones, Argentate could tell that it was quantity over quality. Tired, and not wanting to cause more energy to be expelled from Aquofim as she now had to focus on Nihil, Argentate decided to be more careful.

Three spirits came towards Argentate this time. A gigantic rhino, a giant short-nosed bear, and a huge pterodactyl. There was really no rhyme nor reason to the animals that this silhouette summoned.

The rhino charged at Argentate, so Argentate naturally flew up in the air to dodge, but the pterodactyl knocked him down to the ground again and the rhino hit him dead on. The force sent him sprawling. Luckily, Argentate had just put up his arms and legs instictively to block, so he wasn't gored.

The pterodactyl then swooped in as the bear ran over and started slashing and biting at him. Argentate locked claws with the bear and pecked at the bear's face every time it tried to bite him. However, the pterodactyl came in and body slammed Argentate. Again, Argentate was sent sprawling. The bear ran after him again. The rhino charged at him again. The pterodactyl flew after him again. This fight was harder than Argentate had previously suspected.

He sent balls of lightning at the pterodactyl, who swerved and swayed in the air, dodging each one. Argentate then reared back on his back legs and flapped his wings again and again at the three animals, trying to push them back. Argentate glanced to see how it was doing. The animals were only slowed, but were still getting near to him!

Argentate was so used to fighting people smaller than him that when things that were closer to his massive size took him on, he had difficulty. He kept flapping his wings to slow them so that he could devise a plan. These animals may have been strong, but it was Argentate's brain that made him different. He felt Aquofim struggling and hoped that the energy that it took to summon these things was lot so that Nihil would be easier for Aquofim to fight.

After examining them, Argentate devised a plan.

Argentate's mighty wings were getting a little fatigued with having to flap so many times with so much force to only get the animals to be slowed. If he calculated this right, though, it would all be worth it.

Argentate calculated the speed with which the three spirits would move once he stopped flapping his arms based on how they had moved before being slowed, how much his wings were slowing them down, and other such factors. He used this to calculate the time that it would take for him to be able to dodge at least one attack, and then how much time it would take him to charge a ball of electricity. He also knew that if he used electricity, it would not be as effective against the bear or the rhino as it would be against the pterodactyl.

The silver griffin all of a sudden stopped flapping, and rolled to the side. The three animal spirits were trying so hard against the wind that they were unable to change their course and collided where Argentate would have been had he not rolled to the side.

The crafty mount had charged his lightning breath as the animals recuperated from their collision and sent a ball of electricity at the pterodactyl. It was electrocuted and killed. After he released his electricity, Argentate immediately slashed through the rhino's throat. It writhed on the ground for a while before it bled to death.

Now Argentate just had to take out the bear. The steed flew high into the air, where the bear could not reach him or so he thought. The bear began to climb up the tree to get close to Argentate, so the griffin flew even higher. As the bear reached the top, all of a sudden he was hit full speed by Argentate who had his beak out in front of the rest of his body. The beak stabbed into the bear and pierced his heart.

Argentate landed softly, clearly exhausted but happy to know that he had helped his rider. The silhouette was just focusing on Aquofim and summoned no more animals for Aquofim's griffin to fight. Argentate wished that he could help more despite being exhausted, but was shut out because of the barrier. It was all up to Aquofim now.
