A note about EVENT CANCELLATIONS and other time-sensitive updates: When something happens that we want everybody to know about - RIGHT NOW - we do a couple of things. The information will be posted in the "Official Announcements" section and it will also be posted on Twitter and the CWIRA blog. However, if this info (like a race cancellation at 6am) happens when there is no internet access for us - it will be on Twitter first because that can be updated via cell phone. We recomend that if you are set up for it - follow us on twitter.com/cwira and enable your cell/text to recieve twitter updates on race day. Or, if you have a web-enabled phone you can access the info at cwira.blogspot.com or twitter.com/cwira.

To all racers going to the Weyauwega Fire On Ice: The announcers have asked if we would provide information about the racers so they would be able to talk about you before, during, and after races. REMEMBER this will be on TV so it might be you they talk about, so just reply to this post or e mail me with your: name (last name first please) current points standings, when you started racing, and any other information such as past championships and so on. Thank you and hope to see everyone out at Weyauwega, I know its far but this could be a huge event someday. Good luck

Here is the flyer going out today:

WEEKEND UPDATE!
This Saturday and Sunday the CWIRA will be racing at the Fairgrounds in Weyauwega. This track will be the oval in front of the grandstands – ice has been laid throughout the pit area as well. Maps available at www.cwira.com.

Saturday: We will be running three “Pro/Am” classes – Open Quad, Open Bike and Open Rubber ATV (includes 3-wheelers). There will be 100% cash payback with an added $750 so the payout will go deeper into the field. Signup is at 8, practice at 10 and racing starts on Saturday at 11. Entry fee for Saturday only is $20.

Sunday: Get there early! Signup starts at 7, practice from 8 to 9 only and racing at 10. Sunday will be our normal CWIRA Points Series program and will run all classes like we do each week. We will be taking a slightly longer intermission to allow the USSA to finish their snowmobile classes.

Other Stuff: This is all part of the “Fire On Ice” weekend – there will also be USSA Oval Sleds both days and GNSS Snocross Saturday night.

Speed TV: The big news this weekend is that Speed TV will be there both days filming for the Lucas Oils “On The Edge” program! The information we have is they plan to produce three shows from the weekend, one each on snowmobiles, bikes & quads. We need bio information on the riders – contact Al Falke via the cwira.com message board – the producers need background on the racers to use in the program. Yes, this is “big time” national TV here to film you racers. Very cool.

Remaining CWIRA Schedule: It has been decided that we will not be adding the additional races at the end of this season. That will leave us with two points races – The Wisconsin State Ice Racing Championship at Dexterville Feb 21 and the season finale at Humbird Feb 28. As always, check the hotline if conditions get bad – 715-212-6340 or twitter.com/cwira on the internet.

See you at Weyauwega this weekend – and on Speed later this year!
