I witnessed an act of sportsmanship that was so amazing that I can't let it go unnoticed. Moto Bill, knowing full well that his Banshee has an unfair horsepower advantage over the rest of his class, (57), begged and pleaded with the line crew at the Humbird race to let him start on the back row. When they didn't take him serious, and refused, Bill takes out the bungee cord on the start, finally getting his wish to start on the back row. If that wasn't enough, Bill refused to use high gear to keep his top speed sorta kinda close to the rest of the field! HOLY KRAP Bill, you have my vote for Sportsman of the year....Larry |

Thank you, thank you. You'd think after all these years and watching all those people having to start in the back row I'd have learned to respect that damn bungee cord just a little bit more...... Since it's been about 13 years since I've gotten a holeshot or led one of these races, if I do ever get out in front I'll probably just flop over sideways in shock. |
