So...I had no idea what to think of this movie. Looked interesting but like...what the fuck is going on? Anyway I read the first comic today, Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life, and I am really excited about the movie.

Any opinions about this movie? Anyone read the comics? I plan on reading the 2nd one soon. Ideally I would like to read all 6 before watching the movie.

Note: Michael Cera still needs to find new roles, god damn boy.

I'm really looking forward to it, and I haven't even read the comics.

I don't think I'll be able to afford said comics before it comes out though.

I saw a trailer of it because it looked like a cool movie with weak advertising on TV. From the looks of the trailer, it looks like a really cool movie. The visuals look stoner friendly in Speed Racer proportions. Shame that the TV ads make it look like a meh film geared towards bored 13 year olds. Nobody seems to have bothered looking into it, thus not knowing that it's a legitimate comic series.

Actually, I'm surprised nobody looks into anything ever. It's an awesome thing to do when bored, and being informed just makes sense. Oh yeah, only nerds learn things intentionally.

It's true. I think a lot of people mind find the bad pun jokes like "Well I'm a little BI-FURIOUS!" to be taken as actual jokes. The whole point is to make satire on today's current youth and our media created influences. I think many young people would say some of the things that characters in the comics and movie would say. The dialogue and overall way they talk is realistic and it kinda makes me think of a modern day Seinfeld set with young people.

1-year bump. I need to ask, did anybody else watch this film obsessively? Especially now that it's on HBO, I've watched it at least 10 times and I always want to watch it again and again. And I was disappointed the first few times I watched it because it really seemed to fall flat in it's weird parts. Especially the vegan powers, touching the back of the lesbian's leg, time being mixed up, and the first evil ex battle. The next times I watched it, though, I made sure to be more open-minded, and came to the conclusion that I love alternate reality based, cartoon like, video game like, comic book like movies. So I really don't mind that they have Nintendo DSs, yet Wallace has AOL on a 90sish computer and Scott has never used his email before. It's really just super nerdy creativity and experimenting with breaking boundaries and rules.

Fun stuff. Very quotable and re-watchable.

edit: BTW I think I missed the line that was something like "vegans are just better people" the first time I watched it, which is why it was weird to me. It's funny shit now.

Yes.

I seen it 3 times in the cinema (seeing as I have a pay monthly and see as many films as you want card), and I got the dvd days after it came out. Everything about it is brilliant.

I worship this film, and the books.

Seeing the trailers and everything, I was like "Meh, it looks alright. Probably just a stupid mediocre movie". Upon seeing it however, my original predictions were tossed out a second story window, doused in gasoline, and lit on fire. It was waaaaaayyyyyyy better then I thought it was going to be. Definitely a favorite.
