In case you haven't heard, Raimi's out, as are the rest of the cast. Raimi wasn't liking the script and wasn't gonna make the originally planned date, and then it just all ended up being chucked.

Our next installment (set for 2012) will see young Peter Parker back in High School...

IGN has a lot of info here, and for suggestions, I think they've made some pretty good ones:

http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/106/1060521p1.html

I want Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Peter Parker. I think he's perfect. Although I'd like to see Cera too, I don't think he has the build. Plus, I know Gordon-Levitt is a great actor and can make it a lot darker. Don't believe me? Go watch Brick. Brilliant film. Don't diss the guy cause of 500 Days Of Summer (though I did kinda like that film, though I did love The Time Traveler's Wife, so don't trust everything I say on romance-y type films).

But yeah, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Spidey. As for Mary-Jane, Emma Stone is a good shout if we're going High School version. Though if it were up to me, I'd get the ginger godess Amy Adams on the job, though she's one of my personal favourites... And if not her, Isla Fisher. (I'm not asking a lot, am I?)

As far as villians go, I don't even know who I'd want as the villlian, nevermind who'd play them. I'd rather it was a villian they hadn't used yet, so Dr. Connors makes sense.

And director? I say Tim Burton.

Spoiler: click to toggle

So what are your thoughts? Suggestions? Duzzy? Would you like to direct?

Kill the fucking movie, goddamn it.

It wasn't good when Sam Raimi, A genius of a horror movie director, was directing it, the next idiot they send it to.

Spiderman is a horrible superhero, made even more god-awful by the actor who played him.

The one thing I was excited to see in a spiderman film was Venom,YES! The only redeeming villain in the series besides Dr.Octopus, and the green goblin. Then I relized they ruined Dr. Oct, so the likelihood of this even being remotely watchable is very slim, and i got less excited.

I went/got dragged to the local theater complex, where teens go to stick their dick into scalding-hot buttered popcorn to get their girlfriend to touch them, but instead her homosexual friend dives his hand into your ball-bag which starts the love triangle from hell....

I'm sorry, got distracted for a bit there.

Anyway, I was brought to the movies for another "family get-together" so we can be reminded on why headphones are awesome, anytime of the day, and we watch "Tobee" make a ass out of himself for the third consecutive time on the silver screen. And we get to the end of the movie, and we see venom in full form for 6 seconds and then it dies.

...For the entirity of the movie, Venom was in small, covert bitch-form then finally when it looks like it's going to pick a peck of peter parker's penis off, he gets blown up, doing nothing but menacing a construction site, and being ineffective.

Are you kidding me? And now they're doing another? Who's going to be the villian, they killed everyone! Are they going to invent a new one?

... Actually that isn't such a bad idea. A new mastermind-like badguy, typical henchmen-world domination-form, but, here's the kicker, He's the random assembly of items currently in the room. A sentient gravity swell, as it were.

That would be better, but don't use it in this movie, give it to someone that's has better fighting scenes.

All this ranting is just me tiredly pontificating like a cocksucker so don't take this completely serious now, the last thing I really need is Duzzy kicking down my door and beating me half to death with a hammer partially covered in window-caulk.

Did you read what I posted or the IGN article? They're starting over.

Meaning starting again, fresh, from the beginning, everything new. New director, new Peter Parker, new Mary Jane. They can re-use villians they've used in the past three. This won't be Spiderman 4, it'll be Spiderman 1, again... This younger Pete will get his powers all over again. Clean slate. The least you could do is give it a chance, absolutely nothing has been announced about who's doing anything.

sorry, operating on 4 hours of real sleep so I missed the whole cleaning of the slate motif.

And even if they're doing this, I'm a pattern guy. If something was okay, then it sucked, then it sucked worse, I'm not expecting fried gold.

But maybe your right in the same sense, that is if they did in fact take the entire thing back to Zero instead of one.

Yes. Yes I would.

If not me, I would like to see Ridley Scott or Terry Gilliam. As you can see, I want a unique twist on Spider-Man. If you're going to reboot the series, why not make it extremely different and fresh. Worked for Batman.

I can see Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing ol Web Slinger. The hard thing is to find someone dorky but likable. A loser but believable enough to be saving New York everyday. Emma Stone works, but I don't think she has enough girl next door look. I'll say possibly Evanna Lynch, if only she can do something else then fucking Harry Potter.

For villains, Kraven. Kraven is in probably the best Spider-Man comic, Kraven's Last Hunt. Daniel Day Lewis for the role. Trust me, the guy isn't big, but he'll fucking get into the character well. I read something that during shooting of Gangs of New York, he showed up to his own fathers funeral in character and performed the eulogy. Other then Kraven, Mysterio, Venom, or Lizard.

Sweet Christ. Daniel Day Lewis as Kraven.

We need to protest that Duzzy makes this film.

And you're right teeks, all seems very soon. I think we need a bit more time to forget the previous three so it seems old. Then again, it's just over two years time. I'll be 21 by then and no doubt have decent facial hair. Oh, who am I kidding...

I just seen on IMDB that Mark Webb's got the job as director? No word of it on IGN though. Hopefully if he is, it means we will actually get Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Spidey.

I did read though that with Raimi off Spiderman, he's now freed up to make a World Of Warcraft film...

He should go back to Comedy Horror. I heard Drag Me To Hell was awesome and the Evil Dead movies were awesome.

There are rumors of the reboot movies being more like teen dramas, with less superhero fighting.

Hopefully they aren't being inspired by Twilight.
