Ya. Blue cat people, awesome CGI, James Cameron's return, 300 million dollar budget, uh ya I'm fucking ready for it. I'm checking it out Friday or Saturday in IMAX 3D, actually it'll be my first IMAX movie ever so yay. So far the reviews are extremely positive. 89 on metacritic and a 90 on rottentomatoes. I'm just glad James Cameron is back. Now please take back Terminator from that loser McG and make it amazing again. |

Yeah, I can't wait to see Dances With Smurfs... er.. I mean Avatar. Though I may need to wait til after Christmas, I'm working now, six days a week, and I really need the one day off just to sort everything (eg. my new room, christmas presents, which are turning out to be a lot of work), and me with my cinema card, I've only been to the cinema once in the past two weeks! That's horrible for me, it's normally atleast twice a week... But yeah, I want to hear what people think of it before I see it, but as you said, it's getting top reviews. |

I've only been drunk once in the past three weeks too! It's horrible! Actually, the really horrible part was waking up the morning after that one night. I was at a party at my brothers new flat, and apart from him and his girlfriend who actually live there, I was the only one that stayed, and I woke up around half 7 after two hours of sleep, on the bathroom floor... But yeah, Avatar looks good

REVIEW TIME! So I just got back. I liked it. IMAX was sold out so I stuck with regular 3D. 3D annoyed me at first. I mainly had problems with the military bases. It felt very unnecessary to make a cabinet or something like that 3D. It doesn't add to the shot if anything it's annoying. But oh man once we see the forests of Pandora, the 3D is stunning. It's not the 3D gimmick of things coming out at you, which made the action scenes enjoyable, but you feel like it's part of the theater. A part were white ashes are falling looks and feels like it's snowing in the theater. The story and characters unfortunately were bland and stereotypical and cliched. I expected more from Cameron considering The Terminator movies had a great story, and his movies have very interesting diverse characters from T-101 to Ripley to Sarah Conner to the T-1000. Want to know how this movie is stereotypical? Michelle Rodriguez plays a hot bad ass rebel army chick. I was hoping it wasn't her but there I saw in it's 3D glory her name in 3D Credits. Overall this movie breaks a ton of borders with special effects and establishes what 3D can really do. In a perfect world this movie would not be on dvd but have a showing every year at Christmas time. I guarantee people will go every single year to see this again and again. So final words, great effects, Pandora was a very interesting world, there's the political arguments of Earth vs Resources, the imagery of Europe vs North American Natives, but the movie lacked interesting characters, some scenes were ridiculous, and the plot is pretty much Pocahontas in Space. This is a very special movie. This can possibly be the movie of this generation that people will remember for it's ground breaking effects much like 2001:A Space Odyssey for the 60's-70's generation, like T2 did for the 90's, like Great Train Robbery did for the early 1900's, etc. Very Solid 8/10 |

Yeah, I went to see it last night at a very late showing, but those three words sum it up really. I enjoyed it, a lot. I thought I'd fall asleep during it seeing as it's long and finished after half two in the morning. You've pretty much said everything I would've. Though in most scenes, I really did just find myself thinking, "I wonder how much it cost to make this scene?" |

I'm a bit disappointed considering how the first one ended. It seemed like a safe, happy ending. I felt like there was no need for a sequel. I guess James Cameron needs to create the 3 Highest Grossing Box Office movies ever. |

The sequel can't possibly be any good as far as plot goes. I'll still get high and watch it in 3D like last time, but what else can these blue people go through? And the impact of the visuals won't matter as much the second time around. |
