Welcome to the “Conduct, Problems, Solutions, etc.” thread. If you have to ask yourself why we need this, Welcome to Gundam RPGing hopefully we spoil you with how civil and fair this board should be, and will be compared to other boards you have been on/might go on in the future. So let’s run down what will be new to all members. Here’s a quick Q & A for some common questions that might be asked. Why is this needed? I am making this because of the biggest problems with Gundam boards, its members. Disagree? Think back to what was so annoying about that last Gundam board you were on. I’m sure that 90% of you agree though. If you have ever gotten into a dispute about a move or an attack you know that it’s like pulling teeth. That is what the bulk of this is for. The other side is for dealing with the other problems that might come up. So, should I be afraid that you’re going to ban me? Yes and no. Mostly no. If you act like a civil person, you’ll be more then alright. So now I have to worry what I say. Thanks Goyman. No you don’t. Like I said, act civil. You don’t have to stop being yourself; just don’t take it over the line. Don’t call people the n word and things along those lines. Pretty much everything else is fine. Try to keep it PG-13. If you start to step over the line, you will be warned, you’re not going to face punishment out right if you start to step over the line. Which, once more, that line is pretty far up and if you cross it, it would be at the point where there would be no question why you are being punished. So, what if I get into a heated argument? We aren’t going to do anything. If someone has backed down and you/s/he keep going after them over and over, then Admins probably will step in. We’d like you not to get into heated arguments because all it does is cause problems and tension between members, but it’s like asking the sun not to rise. Even if you ask nicely, it will happen. If you ignore a warning from an admin when things are too heated, someone has backed down but one keeps going, or if an admin wants you to shut up because it’s a useless argument then you will be punished. What if I have an argument/dispute about a move/attack/defense/etc? Briefly, this is how it’s going to happen. If you’d like more info, scroll down to the problems area and look for battle disputes. If a problem arises between two or more members that can’t be solved between the members then this moves to “The Court Room”. One member must make a thread in The Court Room with the following: Members, Battle, The post/posts in dispute, and the suits in question. Then the poster may state their side of the story. The other/s may post their side of the story themselves within 24 hours of the thread. If you don’t post a side of the story, that’s fine, all it does is clarify your point of view and will not affect judgment. Judgment will be decided by Admins, if the claim has a clear solution all it needs is an ok from Antom or Goyman or it can be cleared by two other admins. If the problem is one that doesn’t have a clear solution then the members will be informed that “Case is pending” or something close to that, then a thread will be made in the staff forum. (You won’t be seeing this likely, but it will be enforced.) This type of argument MUST have both Goyman and Antom’s ok or Goyman or Antom and two admins. All admins are welcome to put their views in. Verdict is final. Questions? I’ll explain in more detail below. (Insert Name) made fun of me on aim/yh messenger/msn. Can you help me? No. Some guy called me a noob in the cbox, will you do something? No. (But there are exceptions when they are fully harassing or will clearly not back down even though you have.) Can I talk about porn/my one night stand/my alone time activities? Yes and no. If you’re breaking the rules, don’t say it obviously. Good rule of thumb, if it’s PG-13, you’re clear to talk about it. So that means you can talk about breasts/vagina/masturbation/etc. Just keep the “She had dinner plate sized nipples!” to yourself. Also don’t describe sexual acts. And no “that’s what she said.” Or you will be banned. This is your warning. Can I curse? Sure. Shit, piss, ass, dick, tits, damn, and some fuck are accepted. Just don’t step over the line. PG-13. I’ve got this rash on my… No. Someone is harassing me over PM. Alright. What you need to do then is contact an admin via pm with a screen shot of the harassing. If you don’t know how to ss, it’s commonly a button above the right side number pad of your keyboard. Some laptops may require you press a function button, which should be between your left alt and ctrl. ---------------- First, let’s discuss how problems will be dealt with. Problems LIVE BY THIS: You can instant message an admin with a question that needs answering fast, concern, or problem but when we respond with ok/got it/I’ll look/etc. it means we are on it. There is no need to message us with small details or stupid things concerning the problem. We don’t care and we will hate you for it. We are most likely dealing with other people’s problems at that moment to, we will get to you. Member Communication Problems Problems are not what someone said to you on your messenger that you want to drag onto the board, that’s your battle. Problems are the following: Disputes in battles and serious member problems. What, you might ask, is a serious member problem? Racial slurs, indecent talk, harassment, private part showing, etc. It is not someone calling you a “little bitch” or “your face”. If someone says something totally out of line, and an admin is on and sees it, action will be taken instantly by that admin. If no one is around, screen shot is your best friend. If you don’t know how to ss, it’s commonly a button above the right side number pad of your keyboard. Some laptops may require you press a function button, which should be between your left alt and ctrl. With PM’s, screen shot and send it to an admin. AIM/YAHOO/MSN messenger system conversations are not the boards business. Block them if you don’t like them. Don’t drag it onto the board. If you do, you’ll likely face more severe punishment then the attacker. Offensive posting, while most likely going to be seen by an admin, might slip under the radar. PM an admin with a link to the post. Examples of things worth reporting to us: - You’re a ni**er - You’re a sp*c - You’re a d*ke - You’re a sandni**er - Towelhead - You’re a k*ke Battle Problems Please note that if you report battle problems outside of the board or a written complaint is not in the battle discussion or the court room, any rulings do not hold water nor does staff have to look at the complaint. That means that if a ruling is done outside of the Battle Discussion forum or The Court Room, anyone that wants to overturn the false verdict may do so by filing a complaint properly. Ninety percent of your battle problems should be resolved by an admin fairly quickly. We all know that some things aren’t a slip of the mind and are more complex and deserve more inquiring then just a quick decision. So we’ve tried to make it as quick and painless for both the players and the staff. We have made “The Court Room”, it will be the place for complaints from battles. Battle Decisions will be solved two ways: The Quick Resolve or Judgment. Please note that admins follow these same rules if they are in question. Anything they say in the staff fourms will be ignored. They are treated as the standard member for this case. If you have a battle problem that can’t be resolved between two members, ask an admin to step in and look. They will look at the posts and tell you one of two things. Quick Resolve: If there is a clear winner of the argument that can be backed by facts or science or even logic, the admin will consult another admin and a verdict will be reached and posted in “The Court Room” with the verdict and the names of the two admins that decided this. After this point, you may have a chance to overturn the verdict if one or both of the admins are not Antom or Goyman. To do this, reply to the topic asking for an overturn of verdict. Don’t complain, just ask for an overturn. You may inform Antom or Goyman about your overturn request via PM. If either of these two gentlemen decides that you might be in the right, the case will be re-opened and it will move to Judgment status. Judgment: You have the right to skip the quick resolve and ask for Judgment status. If the post is deemed uneasy to resolve quickly, the admin will post “This matter is moving to judgment, please repost in the court room.” or something similar. That is, if the topic isn’t already in The Court Room, if it is, you will receive a pending status. Using the template, make a starting topic using the starting poster set of guidelines, then the other player post using the Defendant guideline. After this, an admin will inform the thread that it’s been seen and it is pending. Doing this time, the matter will be discussed in the Staff Room for at least 24 hours. Once a decision is reached, either Antom or Goyman will post the verdict. This verdict is final and can’t be overturned. Do not complain or you will be punished. No late notices. If you move on and then suddenly you want to backtrack, well, it’s not happening. Punishment Unless you’re a special case, you will always get two warnings. The only way you would get instantly banned without warning is if you use a racial slur or something close to it. Social: So let’s say you get into an argument with someone and it’s getting pretty heated. An admin tells you to stop, you keep going, the admin repeats, and you keep going. Welcome to Punishment. Level 1- You will be banned for a day. Level 2- You will be banned for two days. Level 3- You will be banned for a week. Level 4- Admins will discuss your status. From this point, you could be permabanned. The number of times you have to be banned goes with the level. So if you are banned once, 1, twice, 2, and so on. If the admin did not give you a fair warning, consult Goyman and only Goyman about this. Battle: So let’s say you don’t like the final ruling. Two warnings, and to tell you the truth no matter what you say from a judgment ruling it will be ignored. If you ignore the two warnings, welcome to bannedland. Level 1- You will be banned for a day. (And, depending on the offence, any board power.) Level 2- You will be banned for two days. (And, depending on the offence, any board power.) Level 3- You will be banned for a week. (At this point, if you have a board power, you'll be having your powers taken away for sure.) Level 4- Admins will discuss your status. From this point, you could be permabanned. The number of times you have to be banned goes with the level. So if you are banned once, 1, twice, 2, and so on. . If the admin did not give you a fair warning, consult Goyman and only Goyman about this. The Ten Commandments I do realize that after looking at this, the board looks like it’s going be a bitch. It’s not. The only real things that have changed are the battle ruling system and you can now be banned after two fair clear warnings. So, I figured I would give you ten things to live by so that you never get in trouble if you follow this. 1. Thou Shall Not Slur Racially. 2. Thou Shall Not Bug Admins. 3. Thou Shall Not Argue Final Verdicts. 4. Thou Shall Not Get Carried Away With Arguments. 5. Thou Shall Keep It PG-13. 6. Thou Shall Not Harass. 7. Thou Shall Not Show Private Parts. 8. Thou Shall Listen To Admins If They Ask You To Do Something. 9. Thou Shall Show Respect For Other Members. 10. Thou Shall Not Say “That’s What She Said.” Also, Your Rights. 1. You have the right to have your case looked at in the court room. 2. You have you right to ask a question, but please keep it short. 3. You have the right to inform Admins, but once you do, please back off. 4. You have the right to overturn a Quick verdict to be judged in “Judgment” status. If you have questions or concerns, contact Antom or Goyman. We reserve the right to change any and all rules in this thread at any time, but we will do so fairly.
