At first, it had been hard to find out much about this guy. Yoku Minagoroshi, Engel Vinge, as well as many other names, most likely, had cloaked this man's history and made it hard to locate him. As soon as the trail for Yoku Minagoroshi had gone cold, this other guy, Engel Vinge, had popped up, and had been traced to the very same organization. Then, later on, the man had switched back, hinting that he had carried out a few malicious deeds under the other name. But after a lot of homework, Harutomo had finally located this man. The second of the Frost Wolves for him to meet. Lately, Harutomo had not been a Mobile Suit pilot, but a contracter of those with more skill to speak of then he. He had been dealing with mercenaries an aweful lot lately, and could see it in his future as well, for his success with them so far. Needless to say, upon locating this man, Harutomo had made contact with him immediately, requesting a meeting at the shopping center of the Space Colony Janaka.

Waiting in a small diner, Harutomo sipped applejuice in a booth, waiting for the seat across from him to be filled, as he read from the menu. His cell phone was silenced, and he was prepared to focus on this one. Rumor had it that this man was crazy, and would need to be monitered while on the job. Harutomo wanted to forge a friendship here, to make contracting him later on in this conflict that much easier. Now, all that was left, was to have this man arrive...

A single ship pulled into one of the many docks within Janaka. It was a simple transport vessel that ranked just beneath the fancy ships that the rich were so fond of. Bearing no specific insignia, it attracted some attention that eventually faded when nobody knew who was inside it. As soon as the docking procedures were finished, one man stepped out of the ship.

He wore raven black hair that dropped down just above his shoulder with bangs that hung close to his eyes. His face revealed not a touch of imperfection which gave him the appearance of a timeless and ageless youth. With a toned body and a physical potential he kept hidden, he looked to be only in his mid-20s.

This, to any and all people who knew who he as, was not the case. He was old; for older than most would expect. Just entering his fifties, he already had a plethora of accomplishments under his belt. He could perform almost any job he wished with adequate proficiency. He had his own company that produced items to make everyday life easier for Newtypes. He had been a relatively famous pilot decades ago and he had picked that profession once again in the past year.

He was contacted by a member of the Imperium, Harutomo Murakimi. From what information Yoku Hosatsu had given him as well as he own personal well of knowledge, this Harutomo wasn't some punk needing hitman services. Upon the recent development of armed conflict, both potential and actual, it was expected that the leading powers were to look for outside means to improve their own power.

Through a series of commuting, this man could be found entering the shopping district. Beside him floated a small cube that contained assorted items such as his wallet, his phone, and whatever else he may or may not need. This cube was but one of the many objects he designed and created with Yoku Hosatsu and could be controlled entirely by a portable Psycommu System that was owner-specific.

After meandering through the shopping district, he eventually came upon the designated meeting location. It was a quaint little diner that looked respectable enough. Upon entering the food establishment, his finger twitched slightly as his mind detected the presence of an above-average Newtype. His eyes scanned the area for a moment before finding his target.

He found a man with brown hair and a face marred with age. Judging by the image file Hosatsu had given him, this was the man he was to meet. He took the empty seat in front of the man presumed to be Harutomo Murakami, and his floating Newtype cube took a position from just in front of him while staying an inch or two off the table. Its top side flipped open like a box, and a mechanical arm took out a small, folded card that contained a printed version of the message he had received from Harutomo.

"Assuming that you, sir, are Harutomo Murakami..." the man began, his voice sounding almost non-existent and as mysterious as how his face matched his age, "My name is Yoku Minagoroshi; one of the leading heads of the H-M Industries which focuses on the production of everyday items for Newtypes." He extended a hand, intending the other to take the standard gesture. "If you are not the aforementioned individual, then forgive me for wasting your time."

As soon as the man took a seat in front of him, Haru had one thought echo through his mind. The thought rung so loudly, that a strong newtype like this Yoku could easily pick up the main thought. How old is this guy supposed to be? Haru thought, facing a 20 year old male, who claimed to be nearing the end of his fifties. With a sigh, Haru did not speculate nor assume, but carry forwards with his duty. "Nice to finally meet you, Mr. Minagoroshi." Haru said with a broad smile. "I know enough about you already, Yoku, sir. Now, I would like to extend a handshake on behalf of the Imperium's entirety. I understand that you will eventually be working for other factions and organizations in the future, such is your entire career at this moment, but I would like to make sure you remember your experience with the Imperium as warmly as possible. In this time of war, blown up to immense proportions, the Imperium, the only faction truly for its people, could use any help available to restore peace to the solar system. That is why we are both here, truly. The Imperium would like your masterful aid in the cessation of the rebellion. I understand you want payment, and here is my proposition: we would like to employ you for one battle, first. What is your price, sir?" Haru said, trying his best to speak as politely, quietly, and clearly, as possible while maintaining a smile.

And so, Haru reached for his cup, and took a swig of apple juice as he awaited Yoku's reply, eyeing the floating cube with amazement. He would have to purchase himself one of those sometime later on. It seemed to be extremely useful.

Yoku mused to himself, sensing the curiosity emanating from Harutomo. He could already guess that this curiosity stemmed from his appearance. It wasn’t everyday that you could find a man who looked younger than his age; more so when he looked twenty years younger than he actually was. Of course, he resisted the temptation to pry into the other’s mind for the sake of amusement; who really knew how many bodyguards the man brought with him?

Finally, he began to speak once more, his voice still sounding as ageless as before, “I must applaud you for attempting to appeal to me with such flowery compliments.” He chuckled; he was beyond such trivial means to boost his ego. “Compliments like that make one’s respective group seem desperate and inferior.” Yoku indirectly insulted the Imperium, doing it in a subtle manner that gave it no hostile intention.

He moved the cube aside with his mind and had the contraption land on the table. With the distractions quite literally out of the way, he looked straight into Harutomo’s eyes. “I suppose I should get down to the meat and potatoes of this meeting as well.” He looked at the man before him, giving his next words an air of superiority. “I am one of the two pillars that support H-M Industries. Additionally, my Newtype capabilities have been measured and I rank among the highest. Finally, I have the experience of the previous war where I have literally been in situations where my chance of surviving was extremely small.” Throughout his brief description of his importance and his capabilities, he sounded indifferent which implied that he did so not to boost his own personal ego.

He paused for a moment, letting the words sink into Harutomo’s mind. “Although it may seem like I will be asking for an excessive payment, you’ve caught me at a rather pleasant time.” He grinned slightly, and it seemed like he had total control of the situation. “I do not know the true intentions of the Imperium nor do I have any real history with them.” He clasped his hands together and looked at Harutomo with a serious look. “I am in no position to take advantage of its resources, so I ask that they pay me with the following.” He began to list out his demands. “I request that the FW-RI Rayoren be repaired and supplied with ammunition prior to and following one battle. As an upfront payment, I would also request the installation of two vulcans in the head unit of the FW-RI. Finally, I will not fight for more than one battle for this meager payment.” Finishing his statement, Yoku waited for Harutomo’s response.

"I must applaud you for attempting to appeal to me with such flowery compliments.” Yoku said, punctuated with a chuckle. Harutomo himself smiled, as the aged mercenary once again opened his mouth to speak. “Compliments like that make one’s respective group seem desperate and inferior.” Harutomo's smile, then erupted into a larger grin, as he was impressed by this man's gumption. Then, Harutomo blanked out for a moment, as the man came close to a point of outright bragging about his past experience, and position in some business. Harutomo came close to interupting this man, and admitting that he, too, had taken part in the wars too, and had actually remained loyal to a single faction. But of course, Haru bit his tongue, and let the man continue. When Harutomo heard the man's price, his eyebrows rose. The man wasn't asking for much, and Harutomo was ready to pounce upon the offer.

"That offer is extremely reasonable, Yoku. I will have to take you up on that one, if you wouldn't mind." Harutomo said with a smile. Reaching into a nearby breifcase, Harutomo produced a piece of legal paper, already drafted with details of a contract. It mainly outlined the fact that this mercenary, being Yoku, agreed to fight in a battle of the Imperium's choosing, and there lay the payment for this job, which would be finished in a timely manner, most likely before this battle. In fine print read a warning that should the Merc cross the Imperium, nothing could save him from their wrath. Harutomo smiled, as he handed the paper over to the merc, sliding a pen across the table. "Sign at the bottom, after reading through it thoroughly, please." He said.

Yoku listened closely as the Imperium’s representative officially got down to the nitty gritty of the whole meeting. Harutomo pulled out a small packet of paper from his belongings. With the Imperium’s seal clearly visible as well as the overall structure of the text, this packet of fibrous material was the contract to sign away Yoku Minagoroshi’s life for a single battle.

His red eyes scanned the contract before him as he took hold of the document with one hand, analyzing the document down to its very core. Identifying letters, forming words with those letters, creating sentences with words and punctuation, taking in their end meaning. While it may have been one of the most plainly worded piece of text that he had ever laid his eyes on, it was a relatively important document. Not only would signing it reintroduce Minagoroshi into the wild world of mechanized fighting, but it had other possible results that he had to take into account. By signing a job with the Imperium first, he risked being biased toward one faction.

Setting the paper down, his left hand picked up the pen that lay resting near him. In one practiced motion, the name Yoku Minagoroshi marked the document. While this may have completed the meeting, the mercenary wasn't finished. He withdrew from his own belongings a set of fibrous material as well.

"As with any meeting of substantial importance that requires my signature..." He slid the papers across the table as he spoke, his right pointer finger pushing the document along while pointing at the H-M Industries logo at the top right corner. "... I must have you sign these documents as well." With the paper now parallel to the edge of the table, Yoku withdrew his hand and moved the pen to the top of the paper with his mind in a masterful display of his Newtype powers. "These quite simply state my demands. Should the Imperium..." He paused slightly in order to add a somewhat dramatic effect before he emphasized the following word. "...cross me, I have other precautionary measures that will make them regret having done so."

Until Harutomo signed his set of papers, Yoku had no intention of returning the document he himself had signed.

I apologize Yoku. I would have had time to do a nicer post tomorrow, but I hate to keep you waiting. :[

Harutomo signed the contract with a smile, and looked up at Yoku with a chuckle, handing that contract to the mercenary, who had deffinitely covered his bases. He was a smart cookie, that was for sure. As Harutomo waited for his contract back, he opened his mouth to bid farewell to this man. "Sorry to leave in such a hurry, Yoku, but I have yet to see your last partner, Kazuar. However, I hope you look back upon your business with the Imperium happily, and come back to us again. It was nice having business with you. Before I bid farewell, where can I purchase those nifty products of yours?" Harutomo said, in a bold last attempt at flattering this new partner in business. Harutomo had said it with humility, smiling broadly as he spoke, and he was sure that this man would catch on to the humor. With that, he prepared to leave. The deal was done. Now he only had one more mercenary to take care of.
