Seth Skyblast stood with his arms folded inside his spacious, red, gold and black draped office: His peculiar midnight colored leather clothing seeming quite at home inside the lavish room. All around the walls were various rare swords, as well as pictures of Seth shaking hands with or talking to people of importance in the solar system. His red optics gazed outside his window to the rocky surface of Mars, the red planet. A small smirk threatened to appear on his usually reserved features at the thought of that nickname. It would - if Seth had anything to do with it - be void soon enough, what with his research into the field of Terra-Formation; Mars would, in perhaps a few hundred years, possess an Atmosphere like that of Earth (before Greenhouse emissions ruined it) and could possibly become the new central planet of mankind. But then again, Seth was a dreamer: And he knew that such a wish would never be achieved in his life time. With a contented sigh, the Commander in Chief of the Martian Colonial Alliance turned away from the reinforced window: Moving to his blood red draped desk and settling down in his golden lined, black chair.

Lifting an elegant black, gold inscribed pen: Seth began signing papers sent to him by his Head of Weapons Research and Technological Development, approving more and more insane research plans for Lloyd Hardiman, another smirk gracing his enviously youthful face when he thought about the eccentric but brilliant Lloyd. As he continued monotonously signing papers, Seth's mind drifted back to before he was in his current position, back to before he had any kind of influence among the masses to when he was a trainee in the Jovian Military Corps, fighting with his heart and soul to make his people and indeed his 'country' proud, if a collection of Space Colonies could be called a country. But why not? After all, They were untied under a single flag and banner for many years, and fought as a united force against the Earth in the tragedy-filled war twenty long years ago, when the man now signing these papers so easily was but an unsure child in a massive, frightening world.

With an exhalation of relieved breath; Seth finished the last paper, closing the folder containing them and leaving it for the envoy to pick up and take to Lloyd. No doubt the aged scientist would be overcome with glee knowing his insane research had once more been approved by the ever-generous Commander. Leaning back in his soft chair, Seth closed his eyes: It was obvious he was not sleeping, but simply daydreaming back to a time where he knew nothing of war, and was but a small boy on board a ship, with a family of military personnel, each and every one of whom treated him like their own blood...

Ah, what it was to be young and innocent again.

I've got a gun in my hand but the gun won't cock,
And my finger's on the trigger but the trigger seems locked.
And I can't stop staring at the tick-tock clock;
And even if I could I would never give up!

She was in uniform, and she sure as hell felt uncomfortable. But she had to get used to it, she was second in command after all, even though she was only starting adulthood. Apparently she had a scheduled meeting with Commander Skyblast, so she had to look good in uniform.

After spending an hour or so getting her uniform on so it didn't bug her... much, she went out the door. There standing was her Advisor, the former Jupiter Empire pilot Sataroshi Hitakawa. "I assume you are ready Madame Masurugi?"

Chihiya nodded. She wasn't very used to being called Madame Masurugi, but it came with her level in the military. She was amazed she was chosen out of many others to be the second in command, but there had to be a reason for Commander Skyblast to choose her, so she let it be.

She enjoyed being around her advisor. They had a strong bond usually shared between a child and parent that spend alot of time together. She did lost her parents when she was eight, just like Sataroshi, it was kind of ironic how it turned out both their parents died in a construction accident.

As they were walking to the Commander's office, she struck a question up to Sataroshi. "Hey, Sataroshi, how long have you known Commander Skyblast?"

Sataroshi looked down at her, then smiled. He rather enjoyed retelling his past under Commander Tawkashi, then torwards the end of the war, Commander Maxwell. "Well... I'd say over twenty years. Why?"

Chihiya considered that. She wondered if they fought together at any battles. After a few moments of silence, she responded, "Oh, just curious."

Sataroshi chuckled. They nearly walked past the Commander's door. He did a left face and was facing the door. He knocked and asked, Commander Skyblast? Its Madame Masurugi and Sataroshi Hitakawa. We had a scheduled meeting with you today."

Seth's eyes snapped open, his crimson oculars fixating themselves upon the door. "Enter." He would smile as the door opened, rising from his seat and moving towards the other side of the desk, first saluting them both, smiling at Chihiya fondly for a moment before looking to Sataorshi, extending his hand. "Sata, my good friend. How have you been? I know it's only been a few weeks, but a lot can happen in but five minutes. Anything interesting a couple of grizzled old veterans could talk about over a drink of Mars' finest whiskey?" It was ironic that someone like Seth would refer to himself as a 'grizzled old veteran'. He was not grizzled, by most standards he wasn't really 'old' but he was a veteran, one of the more famous ones for his actions, which birthed both the end of the Earth - Space war and a new step towards ultimate peace.

The door slid open. On the other side of the door stood a man dressed in his uniform, but there was a slight difference in his, it had gold and crimson trims. They both walked in and saluted back. Chihiya gained a light blush at the Commander's smile torwards her, it felt like the kind Sataroshi would give her.

Sataroshi extended his hand, took Seth's and shook it. He released his hand and stated, "I'm doing very well, Seth. And something us vets can talk about? We could talk about my Gaza-D's last battle at Traumys... I do beleive you were there. So many thing we could speak about, but not limited to that."

Chihiya, on the otherhand, sat down in one of the chairs in front of the commander's desk, sitting down didn't annoy her as much as standing up. She had decided to let the two former Jovian pilots catch up, even though they may have just last week when she was inspecting the structural integrety on the Valles Marineris base. She took out her notepad and started writing down ideas to make a form of a short story on.

Sataroshi thought over something for some time, then opening his mouth and said,"I'd just like to say that I felt honored when you requested that I join you back on Ceres before we left. I really felt that you were going to take Hiruma or one of them, I mean, I was a lowly private back in the day, but I guess fate had something else in mind."

Seth chuckled, handing Sataorshi a glass of whiskey and sliding a large glass of Iced Coffee at Chihiya, smiling at her before sipping his own whiskey. "I chose you because I trusted you. Hiruma and the others were chosen for the same reason, though also because I have a preference to work with those I know already as opposed to total strangers. Who would have thought it possible, eh? Me standing here like this, as the Leader of what could be the most powerful military force in the modern world, so to speak. But still there is work to be done; Mars must be terraformed and the rebels must be defeated. All those fools are doing it creating more un-needed death, I haven't done what I have to have a crew of uppity children decide they want to start another damnable war."

Seth placed his glass down, rifling through a separate stack of papers before finding the one he was looking for: Handing it to Sataorshi. "Miss Chihiya has been assigned to an MCMP-02V Stallion Officer Use Mobile Suit. I hope this is acceptable? We have several new designs, but they are still in the testing phase. Plus, we don't want any Prototypes exploding with our Asanous inside them, do we?" Seth chuckled, smiling sincerely at the girl.

He was an odd one, that Seth Skyblast.
