The security had been like most, but differing as greatly as the man that had smoked a few joints too many. sitting throughout hallways, automated turrets remained suspended in positions where the walls met the ceilings. Soldiers, unlike in other areas, wore fully armored suits, each suit possessing air tight seals on detachable objects such as their helmets and gloves. The weapons, were similar to the original choice of weaponry, but differenced in what they'd be using as ammunition. All of the soldiers had been armed with G11 assault rifles, and more had been issued to the area commonly referred to staff permitted in the area as "Teebus Five". Like many of the other facilities within the bunker, it had been kept a closely guarded secret by the D.I., known only by people with extensive mind manipulation and background checks. The result, left anybody who tried to get through the system, out of the job, and anybody who managed to get through the system, useless to the factions that had sent them to investigate. The walls, the doors, most had been armored, but more importantly, a thin plastic surface over all of the chambers, made the areas easy to maintain to the point of remaining bright white and shiny while serving their true purpose; keeping possibly lethal creations from killing many needed people. From one of the protected secondary elevator shafts, four D.I. security members, now the most trusted and most loyal among the D.I. staff, stepped as quietly as they had been previously trained to do, heading for the destination ordered. In the respective hand of each soldier, they carried a large steel crate by the corners. Printed on the sides, top, bottom, and corners, were bright green and orange bio hazard signs. None of the staff reacted to the sight, but rather remained out of the way, allowing the four to move further down the hall. The rubber soles of the space combat boots, pressed and squeaked against the smooth plastic layer that formed the floor. The solid red sensor strips placed upon their helmets, glowed menacingly as they came closer to the end of the hallway itself. ((More to come)) |
