Sorry if this was answered in any other topics or the book itself (I was very tired when I was reading the last bits- 1:30am, so I may have missed or misunderstood it), but what exactly was the thing whimpering under the chair when Harry was talking to Dumbledore? Was it supposed to represent something?

After harry "died"? I belived it was the part ofVoldamorts soul that came out of Harry when Voldemert tried to kill him.

It's Voldemort! That was the last Horcrux, so I'm guessing it was the similar thing that Voldemort became in GoF, before getting his body back.

While they are circling each each other in the Great Hall, Harry tells him he has seen what he will end up being if he does not feel remorse for all the things his done!

On that note, I was so impressed and excited to see Harry so under control. I love how he tantalized Voldemort. I loved his "You don't get it." Posted Image Twice he told him and brilliant, powerful Voldemort was being thicker than Crabbe and Goyle! I enjoyed that chapter soooooo much, it was sinful!!!!

All I was just thinking was how embarassing it would be if after that long, epic, inspiring conversation, Harry just got killed in one shot lol.

Since I read the Epilogue first, when I got to that chapter I knew before hand that he would survive the battle!!!

I really can't believe you did that Annie. If I'd done that I'd absoloutely hate it, all the suspense and not knowing what happens would be gone. And I thought you were a book lover- you went and ruined the best book ever for yourself. :$

Yeah, when I looked to see how many pages there were, I covered up like the whole page so I couldn't see anything. And Harry's talk with Voldemort after he came back? I loved it. I'm sitting here thinking "He didn't rehearse? No he rehearsed this. He had to. Dunbledore helped..... he had to have rehearsed this." It was incredible.

Oh I loved that part. That is my favorite chapter. I was like wow Harry is so calm and he knows what he is doing and he's confidant. I should get my book and read it again right now.

No, Firetongue, you are mistaken. I did not ruin it for myself!!!
After Dumbledore's death in Half-Blood Prince I was determined to read the last chapter and not allow myself to go through the anguish I went through with his death. And I didn't.
Since the Epilogue was there, I read it. I was able to read the book with the certainty that all would be well at the end.

My decision has absolutely NOTHING to do with my love of books. And I do not regret in having done it this way, even for a second.
I laughed, I cried, I was angered, I was heart-broken, I was elated and I have absolutely adored the book. Her best ever!

I made a choice, however, to the best of my knowledge, my choice did not ruin it for ANYONE else who decided to be conventional! At the end of the day, that is what really matters!

Moving on; I knew it must have been Voldemort by the description which was given. What came to mind was the similarities being used, first in Goblet of Fire, while describing the "thing" Wormtail was carrying and later in this chapter. So far my favorite two chapters Are "King's Crossing" and "A Flaw in the Plan."
They were absolutely brilliant!!!!

Yeah the description of the"thing" was similar to the description of Voldemort in GOF.

I was like, oh-oh, he's a "thing" again! Does he not ever learn. He became the "thing he was when Wormtail made the initial potions that gave the appearance of a "crouched baby" or something like that! I knew it had to be Voldy because of the description. And still Harry was so kind to ask if there was any way to help the "thing." Kind and honorable Harry! *sighs*

Voldemort doesn't even get a chance to be like a real person in death. His soul had been ripped apart so many times for all his killings that he condemned himself to be just a "thing."!
