Since we got carried away on discussing scenes of the movies, I decided to open this topic so we would not fall into the trap of getting off topic!

I'm going over the audio for the three books and I cannot believe how much I missed on the books and how many changes were made in the movies.

Still, I believe Peter Jackson made one heck of of job!

I think, it's quite good how Jackson made the films. If he made it excactly as the book says it would have been not as exciting and waaay to long for a film. I think, he did a great job!

The ending, though, was not as good as in the books. He should have had the fight in the Shire included in the film.

That and Tom Bumbadil. Tom was awsome!!!

I like the falcon. Is that a Peregrine? I can't tell becaue I'm not feeling so good today...

I think the extended editions has the Burning of the Shire as one of the deleted scenes.

Tom Bombadil was included in the Fellowship of the Rings, but it wasn't included in the movies, I think! :blink:

Actually, now that I'm back to the books (or audio), the movies were not exactly as the books. If he would have, it's like Cactoos said, the movie would be too long. Nevertheless, the way Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens adapted the books to the movies, allowed people to have a close idea to the books.

I still say it was a job well done! 17 Oscars for the whole Trilogy under the belt; yep an excellent job!

Very true! :)
My favorite movie of the trilogie is the first one, I think. I love that movie! Aragon is just so cool, and I liked the sequences at Rivendell a lot.
Jackson cut out a lot, but the way he did it was brilliant. It didn't seemd like something was missing as it happens with the HP series. And he included the story of Arwen and Aragorn... :D

@I'MNOTCRAZY: Yes, that is a peregrine! ^^

The scene in which the tower is destroyed is AWESOME. Each time I saw it it gave me goose bumps.

Another scene I liked was when all Middle-earth people stay on a piece of land and all the evil ones are swallowed by the earth! IMPRESSIVE!

I like the scene where Frodo and Sam are hiding behind this rock and are watching how the Nazgul fly out of their tower. The explosion was awesome. In the cinema I was really scared! ^^

I hate battle scenes, killings and movies that kind of take pleasure in theses scenes. The orks and Saurman's soldiers were disgustingly ugly and scary. *Don't tell anyone* I covered my eyes in these scenes for a long time until I was able to stomach them! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
