I can understand your piont very well, but that won't change my opinion about Arya. Oromis, for example, I like very much, but Arya is not the type of character I favour. It is just the feeling that emenates from her while reading the book that makes it hard for me to like her, although I know about the reasons for her behaviour. It makes it also difficult for me understand Eragon's feelings for her. I hope that this will change in the last book.

I see it as being distant and always in absolute control of herself. She is very detached, but I also view it as part of her identity as an elf. They don't go crazy with drama like Angela, or Roran or even Eragon.

she HAS to be attached.

IMNC, you asked me to explain aloof out of courtesy I did, now you are explaining reasons for my point of view? How's that?

well I couldn't exactly say anything when i didn't understand you. I'm defending her. it's not like she's gonna pop out of the book and defend herself! lol.

WF, are you saying you DON'T want Eragon to love Arya????!!!!

I don't see why you don't see why he loves her! She's beautiful, smart, strong, a good warrior, a good spellcaster..... I feel like i'm leaving something out cuz it's almost 7 A.M..... but right there is reason enough!

I don't care who he loves, really, it is just hard for me to understand how these feelings have evolved. With my last sentence I actually wanted to say, that I hope that Paolini will give me a reason to like Arya more than at the moment.

well, she'll be less "aloof" when she gets her dragon and has the same bond that Eragon has w/ Saphira

LOL! That would scare the living daylights out of me AND SHE CAN KICK BUTT!

Anyway, you know that I am one of Ayra's most loyal fans, (after you), I was simply saying that I can understand why people don't like her. If you can look at her beyond what she let's through, I guess maybe people would think different. I just admire her character. She's got spunK!
