Why would CP go into such lengths to give us first the prophecy and later on give such an extensive and detailed of the power emmanated from the tree?

Oh, he won't remain swordless, that's a given. But which sword, from where and from whom remains to be seen.

Yep, he DOES need a sword. There are three possibilities, the first is that he will get brom's sword, because would match the coulour of his dragon. Murtagh has a sword which machtes his dragon, too. So Eragon might get one, too.

The seconde theorie would be that he recieves the sword of Eragon I. because of his name. I think that he will get something different from Eragon, instead of a sword, but you never no...

The third theorie is that he will get a totally new sword, made only for him. I just have no idea who would make it, because this elfen smith said she would never make one ever again.

To me, the first one seems to be the most obvious.

This has nothing to do with Brom's sword. It has to do with the power that emanates from the Menoa Tree. WHY has CP been so detailed and careful on what events take place where the tree is the center of what he has developed. That is the theory, that is the theme.

Yep, but that leaves the question how the menoa tree or anything else knew of that. Maybe the Menoa Tree has certain powers to predict the future?

I don't know; so many questions I have. I am, however, sure that the "power that emmanates" from it will come to play an important part in the last book.

Didn't Murtagh have an enormous amount of power as well?

I don't know,; he certainly learned powerful magic during the same time Eragon was training. I can bet my next paycheck thatthat training included dark magic.

The "voices in the caverns of his maind" sounds very similar to what Eragon saw in Durza's mind.
