oh, well I haven't noticed. What convinced you to go back to the dark side (the side which always seems to LOSE MISERABLY IN THE END)??? Vanir is INSIGNIFICANT!!! He was a tool used by CP to show the before and after. |

I completely agree. CP used Vanir to show us Eregons Sparring abilities before the Blood Oath Celebration and After!!! It gave us a good idea of the strength he gained after the transformation happened!!!

This post isn't for saying who will be the rider. It's for trashing the "Roran is going to be the next rider" theory. |

Actually I was going based on the following: ..."I also should note that Christopher said there are plenty of clues to the new dragon rider in Eragon and Eldest. He also said that, while we shouldn't be shocked when we find out who it is, it might be a tad bit surprising, but it'll all fit together and make sense..." I never intended the topic to be about: It's for trashing the "Roran is going to be the next rider" theory. I questioned if it could be Roran, that would be a surprise; on the other hand, the "clues" he's let on all point to Ayra. But Vanir being the "surprise", wishful thinking. There are absolutely NO CLUES, pointing towards him. He served his purpose as I explained in sf. So I guess that's the end of "The Story of Vanir." |

Yeah, but then you should have asked what people thought about the quote, and not specify a person. The clues ALL point to Arya. I haven't EVER found a clue for Roran in the 8 times I've read both books, and dont say I didn't read well enough because I found ALL of my Brom is Eragon's father evidence on the second time of Eragon. |

Scott you enjoy arguing, I don't. In this forum, we do not "thrash" theories. If this is what you like, you are in the wrong place. In this forum we respect members thoughts, opinions and theories. AND you do not need to tell me what I should or should not post As we were saying; Besides Ayra, I cannot see any other character qualified enough to be a Rider. If Roran turns out to be the "surprise Rider,' it would really be a surprise, not only for me but for many fans. There is also a possibility it's a red herring; we don't know, and we won't know until the last book is out. |

Hey, a new idea just struck me! What if KATHRINA is going to be the next rider? She is hold captive by the Ra'zac and so there might be an opportunity for her to touch the egg? Maybe she is even made touching the egg by Galbatorix. It would be really good for him to have another rider under his command, besides Murtagh. He could easily break her will, because she has no idea how to defend herself... (at least he might think that). What do you guys think about that? |

i hate to say this but do you think this is a possibility: The green dragon hatched for katrina and now galby is already training her?? then the half of the book will not be wasted on her traing because she alredy is!!

No, that won't happen. Why would it be her? I can think of 20 more qualified characters. Maybe around 50. |
