Roran the next Rider?

I was reading in another site, about two people who interviewed CP and he mentioned the following:

..."I also should note that Christopher said there are plenty of clues to the new dragon rider in Eragon and Eldest. He also said that, while we shouldn't be shocked when we find out who it is, it might be a tad bit surprising, but it'll all fit together and make sense..."

Could this, after all, mean, that Roran could be the next Rider, and not Ayra as we have all been led to believe? What do you think?

"Roran lost his spear to the next two men he faced. He barely managed to drag out his hammer in time to stop a sword from shearing off his leg. The soldier who had torn the spear from Roran's grip now cast the weapon at him, aiming for his breast. Roran dropped his hammer, caught the shaft in midair─which astounded him as much as the soldiers─spun it around, and drove the spear through the armor and ribs of the man who had launched it. Eldest 138

Was this pure luck, instinct or Roran has the capability for him eventually doing magic?

Nah, that sounds like good reflexes!!! How that quote would make anyone think Roran's the next rider is beyond me!!! And the first quote could mean Arya.

I think that him doing that is just to add a good action sequence into the book to leave the readers on there toes. But it sounds like most people expect it to be Arya to much... Which means if it were Roran they wont be shocked but it will be surprising.

The "time" constraint for only one book left, makes it unlikely that it would happen, but

"...while we shouldn't be shocked when we find out who it is, it might be a tad bit surprising, but it'll all fit together and make sense..."

this seems to have rocked my boat. "Surprising" would Roran be the surprise? I don't know!

Well he's talking about the reader who doesn't analize everything an dthink about it too much.

So maybe the series was meant to only a few. I think not, otherwise these sites would not exist, however, there would be a lot more places for shallow people who don't think much about deep and profound things.
Oh wait, I know a lot of people like that.

Hey if the hat fits....
I'MNOTCRAZY that is what writers do. They feel honored when their books are picked to the bones, trying to anticipate where they are going with their stories.

That is what fans do; and if you pick a liking to a series like Inheritance and Potter where it has not been yet completed, it DOES HAPPEN!
We are part of the hype and the history during their making of the story. And don't tell me you don't enjoy thinking, making up theories and guessing this and that.

I like proving theories. Yeah, I guess you are right. But what confuses me is that he says we might be surprised.

Now you got the whole point of why I posted it. I don't feel comfortable just now about this "comment" he has made.
I see no one better qualified than Ayra for the role of the new Rider. As we have all said, before at some point and place:

Arya is a proven warrior
Ayra is powerful in magic
Ayra masters the Ancient Language
Ayra as ambassador to the elves has experience with all the three races; dwarves, humans and elves
Ayra has been a devoted advocate of the dragons

I mean, who else is better qualified than her; then why would he want to surprise his readers?

cus it would be BORING if it was Ayra. I still dnt think ayra will be the rider cus WOULD SHE WANT TO DO IT? to have a powerful rider he/she would have to WANT to be arider

Why would it be boring for Ayra to become a rider? What are your reasons behind this statement?
