Strenght with magic and phisical strength are one and the same. When Eragon got stronger, he beacme stronger in magic because of his phisical capability.

That wasn't Galbotorix that was Murtagh and anyway Galbotorix is stronger in magic and most likely in swordsmanship then all of those people. Thats how he over threw the riders and took over Alagesia. :(
