I'm quoting myself just to express why all of the ones mentioned are FABULOUS! Saphira is quite unique. Mischief, wise, loyal, empathic, jolly and full of love for her Rider, and while her Rider loves her with the same intensity, he still has to build up wisdom; he is of such noble feelings he wins the reader over immediately. Brom is grouchy, mysterious, wise, strict, irascible, determined, and selfless. Nasuada is strong, independent, determined, ingenious, fearful, strategic warrior. Angela is witty, independent, strong, blunt, mysterious, passionate, jolly, and humorous. Orik is straight-forward, blunt, honest, loyal, determined. And I find them all to be FABULOUS characters, and I could not choose one over the other. |

The only lesson he taught Eragon was not to be over confident! And that because Eragon came to his own conclusion. And Vanir was as arrogant as the first day he sparred Eragon. |

We are entitled to our own opinion; so if really thinks so that's fine with me!
I do remember that when Eragon first got the Oromis place, he waited for hours until Oromis gave him his attention and said something around the lines of; "I see you have learned the value of patience." To which Eragon answered something like; "you can stalk a deer in a hurry." So I believe Eragon already knew the virtue of patience. Good for him; at my age I don not have much of it. |

yes, but this is a different kind of patience, this is the patience you must have to not just scream in rage and kill someone |
