General Braxton Bragg has recieved orders from the Confederate Capital of Richmond via telegraph to begin an 'immediate incursion' into the midwestern United States. The invasion is reportedly to be upon the advice of eastern commanders to relieve pressure from their fronts and force the United States to shift precious resources. Bragg plans to invade north from Texas, through the Oklahoma territory and eventually turn east through Missouri in an attempt to cut off Federal troops operating in the vicinity of Tennessee and Arkansas.
