Spring 1851 Repeal of the Agricultural Enrichment Act of 1835 ALthough Once a good system to ensure that all parts of the Empire's Economy were covered, the Act after some 16 years of service is to be removed. It has over the past years invested into the Areas of Agriculture, Husbandry, and Foresting. Congress has decided that however good they have done, the continual investment into those areas have only stagnated Brazil. A time for Industry is Now, and if Congress continues to fund these things then Salvery, and Agrarian Society will continue to dominate and the people will remain Ignorant and Poor, while industry Passes Brazil By. Though the funding for the year of 1851 has already been distributed, in 1852 they shall not. Education Bill of 1851 The Education Bill was passed with almost a unanimous decision. Many Of the Congressmen viewed countries such as England, France and the United states and noticed their gratness because of an educated Class, something which was restricted to only a previous few elites in Brazil. Though the Bill is still in a stage of expansion and planning, the Construction of the Universidade do Brasil. This will be a place of Higher Learning for the people of brazil, a total of 10 Pounds is spent on the constructing the Compounds, and is expected to be completed within 2 years, and then faculty will be found. The Bill will also include creating schools and other universities all around Brazil, but where and how much is still in debate a decision is expcted int he next year. Cotton is King Cotton Being the Second most lucrative export following coffee, has been given more value as of late. The Cotton Production in the North in areas of Piaui, Maranhao, and Bahia, has greatly expanded through the years. The Government has decided to raise the Export Tarrif of the Product to some 30% to promote sale to local business. Some 20 Pounds are invested into the Cotton Plantations to cinrease size, obtain more labor and create new ones, this would spur one of the most basic industries and a lacking one in Brazil. Equally 20 Pounds is to be distributed as loans and grants to Businesses who wish to undertake the venture of Textile Manufacture. Also a Protective Tarrif is to be placed, one of 10% This year, to be increased as more businesses emerge. Also 1IPP is used to help with machinery and other such things. |

Spring of 1852 Business Grants It was with Much Anticipation that the Empire of Brazil, and congress give out these grants to Businessmen, who wish to expand Brazilian Industry and improve the Economy of the Empire. Through the Brazilian Imperial Bank, the ammount of 30 Pounds are given to distribute to businessmen and the likse. Textile Industry Expands Tarrifs on Cotton Exports have been raised to 50% to continue to promote the sale to local businesses. THe Importation of Foriegn Textiles has raised its Tarrifs to 40% as more domestic companies emerge. To continue this Trend 20 Pounds are spent along with 1IPP to establish more factories and workshops for the growing industry. The Empire Waits The Empire waits to broker a deal with Foriegn merchants to provide the Equipment and machinery needed to fully industrialize, and make up for the lack of Brazilian Equipment. Currently the EMpire is in progress of deals with the United Kingdom and the USA. |

Spring 1853 Social Welfare Act of 1853 To Provide the Utmost Care of the People of Brazil, whom by the Power of Congress, and through the Grace of God through the Emperor Pedro II of Brazil, it is with these combined forces that the People of Brazil are to be given the charities which have been yearly denied of them. In the Year of 1853, the Congress of Brazil Is to create a New Ministry, the Ministry of Public Welfare, whom is run by Dr. Vinicius de Moraes, to provide the utmost care for the forgotten people of the Empire. In the Year of 1853, the Ministry is to be Given 20 Pounds in which to Provide social Welfare to the People, to improve their lives, to give them money to purchase the goods which Brazil creates. Following this year the Ministry is given 5 pounds each year to continue its work. Furthing the Textile Industry The Textile INdustry has grown fairly well, with limited machines, the Industry fairs the best it can, using what machines the Empire Can Produce, and using older methods. 10 pounds and 1 IPP is used to expand the Textile Factories, and another 10 pounds is issued to cotton Plantations to improve their productivity. |

Spring 1855 New Machines from the USA/B] New machines including the american cotton gin, textile producers and other essential things to increase the Brazilian Industry have been delivered and distributed. 100 Pounds worth of Machinery have been distributed to plantations and as well to Factories. Fair Transporation Act of 1855 The Fair Transportation Act of 1855 is a minor bill, but it passed, and indicates that all cargo, must be treated as equal in any oppurtunity. That Ship Captains, and future railway stations, cannot decide at random or through bribery, and bias, to charge differently to transport goods of the same species but of different owner. Cotton Expansion A further 20 Pounds are to Spent in the Increase of the Cotton Production in the Northern Provinces, Particularly in Bahia. Using new Cotton Gins and granting money to buy more land or to hire more workers. |
