She decided that he had handled that well. She knew how it was to tell one person in your life, Whom you cared desperately, that you missed another so badly that it made you sick? Jealousy was a thing well known. Many people deviled in it, letting it twist their lives away to nothing. So envious of others that their own lives dried out and burned. It was sad, but fortunately uncommon. Gwenefiere was not envious though. And she DID understand how he felt. And respected that he would actually tell her that. “It is because you obviously need her, Alain.” She spoke softly, a small smile touching her lips. Alia understood as well it seemed. He had to know that they were all on his side. It was an enormous shock to go through what he had, in such a short amount of time. She let him wrap his arms about her, and smiled up to him, petting Alia gently. She wanted him to get this out, to tell her how he felt. She didn’t need him to hide things. Sure, it was a very new relationship, but at the same time it wasn’t. She didn’t need the dramatics. She wanted trust. And understanding. She herself had a few concerns. She that was what she would give him. She knew that even though he loved his sister, He still loved her. Thousands of years of living, kind of taught you a lot of lessons. “If you were not happy, you would have left,” she spoke with a grin. “But you know that there is more here for you. You aren’t dumb.” She laughed a little. “I know you’ll be alright. You will see them soon. I have a good feeling about that. So, yes, we should go and speak with Xaomen…” She peered up at him for a moment then spoke again. “I know things will be alright, they have to be.” Kissing his cheek, Gwenefiere took his hand and led them back through the building to where the temple was, coming out from behind the statue. He knew where he was going, she believed. The Hospital was small but they did a hell of a job there. Their path led them straight through the temple, all the way out the double doors. At each side of the steps, there stood another door. The one at the right stood slightly ajar. She took him to the left instead. To the door that remained closed. That was kind of a policy. Poisoning had many forms, and there were many dangers to that. Not all agreed with the Vampire queen, or government for that matter. A guard stood at the door, silent but very aware. He bowed his head to them and pushed the door open for them. Gwen looked back to Alain and smiled before she stepped through. Beyond they were met with a hallway. It was lined with bright electric lights. This was probably were most of the lighting in the city was used. Lighting was not paid for though. It was a gift, to the citizens of Ombra Di Notta. She waited for Him to follow before moving along the hallway to the next set of doors. There were a few along the hallway, that were numbered in glyphs. The symbols were intricately burned into the ebony wood doors. She strode silently to the end opening the only door that wasn’t marked. She held this for him, grinning up at him. “Be careful in here, they are very busy.” She spoke with a slightly humorous tone. Voices could be heard beyond. Many of them. The hospital was one of the busiest places in the city. Men and woman flitted here and there. Most of them in this room were dressed in an odd garb. Pale colored robes, and primitive aprons over them. The smell of many herbs choked the room. But sickness could not be smelled. Sickness had not come to Ombra Di Notta as most cities would get it. A Little blood was seen here and there on the apron of one of the healers. But very little. Usually when they someone needed an operation such as that, they made the trip to Balay. Ombra Di Notta was equipped for it, though many people didn’t realize it. At the side of the door, stood a long, fairly tall wooden desk of sorts. It was stacked with parchment which was bound with some type of hide. It stood out against the creamy white of the papers, glossy and dark. A short feeble looking elderly woman stood behind the desk, She had a pair of spectacles on that would have looked ancient to Alain, or even Earth folks before the collapse of their world. Her eyes got large, and she bowed quickly, with a great force for such a small frame. Gwenefiere grinned and shook her head. “No need for formalities. I would like to speak with Xaomen. He came in last night.” She spoke politely, much unlike usual royalty. It didn’t appeal to Gwenefiere to act in that way, unless given a reason. The woman nodded immediately though and handed the queen a key. It was a skeleton key. Though the style was old, it shone brightly. It really was quite new. She took ti gently, and bowed her head to the woman before stepping out. Once they had made it back to the hallway, Gwenefiere stopped, lifting the key to look at it. The glyph for the door was engraved into it. “It’s the second to the last on the left.” She smiled to Alain. She almost couldn’t believe that Xaomen had made it back…after so long? She felt a great pride for her friend. It seemed that something was coming, it was like the cloud of dust that could be seen on the horizon, when the enemies army was closing in. She shivered and headed for the door. The Key fit perfectly, just as it was made to do, and with slender fingers, the queen turned it, a soft click finding her ears. It was dim, but she could see a little. There was a line of crudely made cots lining each side of the room. Only two of the twelve had occupants. She looked up to Alain, to be sure he was there and made her way to the first person. It was a woman, sleeping quietly. She looked haggard and worn. Gwenefiere passed quietly to the next, to Her friend, to Xaomen. |

"Thank you for understanding, my love..." He smiled softly to her, blushing softly at her kiss on his cheek, then he smiled and took her hand, letting her lead him to the hospital as he thought. Alia was right there, her mind brushing against his lightly, just a presence as she usually was, a warm sort of feeling rather than any words was her way of expressing love. He reached up to her with his free hand and scratched a little at her neck, and she let out a low, purring rumble, closing her eyes contentedly as she crawled down his shoulder and curled up when he put his arm there to hold her close. She liked this part at least about being what she was, curling up against her brother's chest and listening to his heart beat. If anything she would be fine with staying this size, though she was still excited to be able to fly though the sky with the wind under her wings... maybe cook some marshmallows on her breath. She giggled a little bit in her mind, drawing a confused query from Alain, but she just licked at his hand and curled up a little tighter. "This is the hospital, huh...?" He looked at the building for a few moments, then he let Gwen tug him along inside, his eyes looking around at everything as they went, especially when they got into the area where the actual doctors and nurses were running about. What he was still curious about, though, were the lights - they weren't incandescent, but he was sure they weren't fluorescent either. Could be another type entirely, Terran lights tended to be nanotech, like modified bioluminescent bacteria amped up to give off more light, except when they needed very bright lights, where they used electrical arcs or plasma on occasion. These, though, were impressive for the tech level of the rest of the city... "I'll be careful. Not my first time in a hospital." As she walked in to the bespectacled woman, Alain glaned over to the side, as Alia climbed back onto his shoulders, poking her head up above his, turquoise eyes blinking at the light. There was a man that was shaking slightly, and a young doctor looking distressed. Alain walked over, took one of the guy's hands, and pressed it hard against one point on the patient's stomach. "Trauma. Keep pressure here, give him something for the pain, and you may have to cut out the damaged tissue." He nodded to the still bewildered doc, then he slipped in behind Gwen as the woman gave her the key and Alia licked his cheek again, proud of her brother. He blushed a little, and whispered to her. "Basic field first aid... I'm not a doctor..." He looked up after that, and nodded to Gwen, following her into the room before he looked about, and walked to the bed she had stopped at. Alia crawled back down his arm, then she jumped to the foot of the bed, where she sat up almost regally, some of her dragon blood showing there - she didn't overthink it until she'd already done it, but she rather liked it. She WAS a dragon, she figured she could act like one. She folded her wings against her back, and looked back to Alain as he stood close to Gwen and stroked Alia's neck, waiting for the man to wake and acknowledge them... at least this wasn't someone he should know... he'd really be meeting someone for the first time |

This is halley's post, I just moved it here OOC: Kenny and Gwen, I hope you guys are in a room with a closed door... otherwise, just imagine Norban does what would be appropriate. LoL IC: It wasn't hard to sniff them out. The Queen had a powerful aura about her, and the metal man... well, his scent was quite obvious as well. Following their trail through the temple, Norban passed any and all wereguards on the way. He was the dark woman's personal servant and all of the other wolves knew well to keep clear. At last, he came to a closed door, behind which resided the source of the two scents. Norban's heightened hearing allowed him to listen in on the pair's conversation for a few brief moments. Knowing it was bad and he would be reprimanded if he eavesdropped, let alone dawdled, one large paw found its way to the door three times. He listened to the knock echo throughout the room on the other side and waited for someone to open the door. |

Alain looked up at the knock, and Alia did as well, tilting her ehad slightly and turning to look at the door. Wolf. I know, its the one from last night, isn't it? Yes Alain frowned slightly, and looked back to Gwen for a moment, kissing her cheek. "I'll be right back, love, Sabre must have sent him. I wonder what she needs..." He wondered idly why the wolf didn't just come in, but then he was still unaware of the rules for lycans in this city, it could be they weren't allowed to enter without permission. Finally he crossed the room again, moving around the other people in their beds, and he opened the door - well he had been right, it was the massive lycan after all. "Yes, Norban? Does Sabre need the Queen or I?" |

"The dark lady wishes to know... train with swords with mistress Sabre?" Norban growled, using as much of the common language as he could possibly muster. Shifting uncomfortably, he blinked, his big black eyes shining in the light from the hospital room. The smell bugged him, but he kept his mouth shut about that. "Dark lady want to see Queen when time is conveen.... conveenyen...t... convenient." Norban growled. The human language was so complicated sometimes. |

Wash: I think they really captured his essence. Kaylee: He looks kinda mean. Wash: That's sorta what I meant. Simon: This must be what going mad feels like. Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me... | |

Xaomens Eyes fluttered as though he was in a fitful sleep before rising slowly. His eyes searched the room and settled on the queens form a small smile appearing but fading almost as quickly as it had come. "I bring you news from the Druids of the Sacred Nectar Mylady..." Xaomen trailed off seeming lost in thought before grasping his side cloappsing back to the bed. "Forgive me, the road has been long and the Go'Haran have not ceased in their efforts to do me in." Xaomen waited for the Queen to say something has he caught his breath. |

Sapphire eyes lifted to the door as the sound came. Gwenefiere had heard the rustleing before the creature had arrived, but she didn't realize that that very being would be at their door. Her eyes had been scanning the face of the druid, that familier face that echoed through her subconcious from times that were like a breeze in the caves of her mind. They lifted the dusts and turned on the lights, reminding her of what had to be done, of what was to come... Lifting muscled arms, she wrapped them around herself, drawing away, into thought, and herself. By the gods, the Queen had never expected to see Xaomen again, never again. But there he was, draped in the wool colored blankets of the hosipital, seemingly asleep. The touch of his lips on her cheek, brought her from the thoughts of past times, and a slight smile to crimson lips. Nodding, Gwen looked up to him, watching as Alain headed for the door. His mention of Sabre added to the rest of her minds twistings, winding them tighter, making her head feel pressurized. Her eyes returned to Xaomen, wondering how long she would be there before he would wake. It didn't matter really, but it was imperative that she see Lady Sabre that day. There was an enormous amount of things to be done, and it seemed as if it would be forever before even one of them was accomplished. A sigh escaped her lips, and her body sunk inward, making the goddess seem frail and tired. And that was how she felt. Even with what she was, she had so little power of what she felt was obviously coming. Even a vampire had worries and weaknesses. It was not immediately noticable to the queen, that Xaomen had woken, until she heard the far off sound of his voice. Trained eyes snapped to focus, her feet barely moved and she was to the side of the cot. His outburst worried her a little, and had somehow struck something deep in Gwenefiere's subconsious, something she had yet to understand. It was unreal how all these factors could come together then, and there. Alabaster skin tingled below her robes, making her shiver. Her feutile attempt of a smile was quickly lost as the druid returned to his resting position. Waiting until he had composed himself some, and being sure he was not dying...Gwenefiere then spoke. "Well, the Go' Haran have no place here..." Her voice came out first stearn, but softened, and she smiled for real. "You are Safe here friend, Welcome home." Over all that she felt at that moment, she found joy, the kind that came with a memory. It was a feeling that came with returning home, to her friends, and loved ones. Azure eyes flicked up to the other two figures and a smile touched her crimson lips. |

"Swords?" Suchara broke in Yeah, me, asshole. I know, Suchara, for crying out loud... I just thought the timing of this was a little weird. He shook his head a little as Suchara laughed to herself, then he walked back over to Gwen, motioning for the wolf to wait a moment. He smiled a little bit when he saw that the man was awake, and he sketched him a quick salute before touching Gwenefiere's cheek lightly. "I promised Sabre I would go earlier today, I'm actually late already, hope she's not upset. You'll have to introduce him and I later, for now I'll let you catch up." With that he smiled a little and kissed her, nodding to the man again before he walked back to the wolf. "Alright, Norban, lead the way, huh?" It's about damn time... Su... shut up, will you? |

It was a bit shocking, all at once, for the the queen, who was trying to overcome a great deal already. What fortune, had brought all of them home? By the gods, she was never more thankful. Without them, She was not she...Gwenefiere could not be who she was then, without their prior effect. They were her family, when she had none. And that had been most of her life. Unconsciously, she fiddled with the edge of the cotton blanket that covered the Druid, watching Alain approach. Gem-like eyes glittered up at him in the bright light of the room, and she nodded. "That's fine. Tell her, our meeting is urgent, and I will see her shortly. I have..." She broke off for a moment, her finger tips going to her temple. She dropped them quickly though and the glaze retreating from her eyes as quickly as it had come, a smile even attempting her lips. Waving it off, she continued. "I won't be long..." Gwenefiere returned his kiss and her eyes dropped to the Druid for a moment, before another spike of pain planted itself in her mind. It was not something foreign though. It had merely not been recognized on the first time around. Her face shifted with an off swiftness, that was becoming a normal with the queen. She would have disliked it, had she noticed it. The white-wash walls were becoming suddenly blaring in the bright lights, sound pressing in on her, as if she were having some sort of attack, The pressure on her mind, brought her to her feet, and she stepped toward the windows, pushing them open so the autumn air could drive away the spell. She was needed by the priestess. She could feel it like being hit with a ton of bricks. That would take some getting used to. It had not been so strong before, but now, she felt it. It felt almost like when her mother... Gwenefiere stopped herself there, not allowing that path to be tread at the moment. It would do nothing but make the tasks before her more difficult than they already were. Stepping back to Xaomen, she sat once more and reached for a cool hand. "I hate to cut you off, Xaomen, but I have a pressing matter to attend to..." Truth shone in her eyes, as she smiled gently to him. "But we will meet when you are ready. Just ask one of the guards to bring you to me, when you are well enough. I am sorry, My Friend, but I must go for a time." She bent forward and pecked his cheek gently, before standing, her skirts swirling around lengthy legs. Her leather shoes made no sound on the stone of the floor, but her slender feet certainly stayed warm. With that, she headed for the door. With natural grace, she strode down the halls, weaving her way back in to the temple. It was empty, and no others had passed through, since her, save for a weregaurd. The Deity could smell the scent of his path, much like the predator that she was. She smelled a variety of other things as well, one scent reminding her of the prior evening's events. The scent of the rain brought back the almost dream like reunion... Her dark heart burned blissfully, as she made her way across the temple floor. The Circle was felt, and obvious around the upper alter. She walked through it, the air changing as she entered, and again as she exited. The path was clear, and Gwenefiere was soon at the grand recreation of herself. She looked up at it with thoughtful acknowledgment, and moved around it, to it's back. A door stood here, set into the statue making it not so obvious in the usual , deep blackness that the temple held. Even in the day, darkness shrouded it's innards. Making it impossible for any to navigate, unless they had light or vampire eyes. Behind this door, The creature stood. It had not been long since he had gotten there, but The door lifted when she arrived, the for of the two before her. Her eyes widened just a little and she stepped to them, to Help take hold of Victoria. Not thinking, merely acting on instinct alone. |
