Misery began to feel the pain at the base of her wings again and really didn’t feel like arguing with Asher anymore. "If he ever does hurt me, then I will come and find you okay? Until then.... until then, just leave me alone. He many get a little angry every now and then, but that’s normal. I still can’t believe that he would hurt me." Three weeks? That was impossible. She had so many memories she had collected over the years. Misery glanced up at Asher, then back to her hands in her lap, "Please. I don’t feel very well right now and I want to rest." Maybe she would ask Lahziel about it again in the morning, but she didn’t think she would get any answers. She could even ask Miss Hona.... Then again, either of the two men could have gotten to Miss Hona first and paid her off to lie. No, she wasen’t that type of person. She would tell her the truth. This whole situation was bugging her to the core and she had to find the truth now. What would she do if Lahziel really did all those things? Where would she go? She had no other place to live.... He looked at her for a few moments, then he closed his eyes, and let out a long breath. She didn't remember... and she didn't trust him. Couldn't really blame her... after all, he was just some random guy she'd met on the street a day before. "Alright... if you break this..." He pulled what looked like a little glass tube out of his pocket, and set it on her desk. "It'll set off a tracker. I'll find you. Be careful..." He shook his head a little bit, sadly, and pulled his glasses back from his pocket, slipping them on as he opened the door and slipped out of it. The man had really done his job... she trusted him fully, even though she knew something was wrong. How could he prove to her that he was the one telling the truth...? If he waited until the man hurt her, he could just go ahead with whatever plan he had for her right away, he'd certainly never let her go out to find him, not now that he knew... As he walked down the stairs, though, he slipped, and knocked one of the paintings off the wall - he caught it, but the noise was loud enough... "Shit..." |

Misery took the object from him and looked at it, then looked back at him. He placed his sunglasses back on, and then left. She was just beginning to relax again when a loud thud was heard. She stood quickly and rushed to her door to see Asher there holding a painting. What, was he an art thief now? She stood on top of the stair, about to try and hide Asher again somehow when Lahziel appeared at the foot of the stairs. "I had a feeling you were here." he said in a dangerous voice. "Misery, return to your room....NOW." Misery stood there for a moment, looking between the two, "But, why....?" "NOW!" he shouted again. "Dont make me tell you again!" Misery gasped and quickly turned and shut the door to her room. What was going to happen now? This wasent good at all, not in the least! Lahziel turned his attention to Asher and narrowed his eyes, "I warned you to leave her alone, but you did not listen." He produced two sais from his sleeves, then stood ready. "Now I will kill you and get it over with. She is mine now, and I will use her as I please." He then moved at incredible speeds and lashed out at Asher. However, with Asher's abilities the outcome of the battle was uncertain for Lahziel.... Misery tried to listen to what was going on through the door, but could only hear muffled voices. Lahziel sounded angry, she knew that much. What could she do? Deadra |

"Because, Freya... he doesnt want you to see what he really is..." He narrowed his eyes slightly watching the man... this was not going to be good... "Don't worry about it, Freya..." He smiled a little back up to her, then he looked over to the man, and shook his head. "Sorry. Somewhere... I made a promise. Somehow I'm going to keep it. Just don't think I'll be so easy to kill, asshole..." Sais... he'd trained with those... going straight for the chest meant the man could just close his arms and hit him in the back, this guy was larger and stronger and as he started to move apparently faster, but by now everything for Asher was in slow motion. He could see what the man was about to do, like an echo in the air that came before the actual event... As the man slashed in at him, Asher jumped back and up a few steps, feeling the air from the blades whizz by not an inch from his chest, and they cut through part of his coat and his shirt, but his quick motion had kept him from harm. His hand slipped into his coat, and he drew forth what looked like a pistol, but it had a longer than normal, cylindrical barrel, and three parts down its length that glowed slightly and started to spin faster and faster as he aimed it. "Go ahead, asshole... bet you've never seen one of these, but I guarantee if I pull this trigger there'll be nothing left of you but vapor..." |

Lahziel stopped his attack and looked at the object in Ashers hands. After a moment he looked up at Asher himself, but said nothing. "Such things are forbidden." He said with a grin, "I could have you put away." Asher was quick...very quick. He had never seen anyone move like him. Lahziel thought about trying to know the weapon from Asher's hands, but wasent sure if he would be able to succeed. Finally Lahziel adjusted his sais into a different position and was about to attack when Misery emerged, "Dont hurt him!" She yelled. "Just let him go! I promise he would be a problem to us an more!" Lahziel stopped dead in his tracks and glared up at Misery, "I told you to stay in your room! Now go!" Misery took a step back, as if trying to decide if she should listen to him or not. Finally, she shook her head. "Please, just let him go. I told him to never come back because he speaks lies. He wont bother us anymore." Lahziel sneered, "I doubt that. I doubt he will ever leave us alone, not until he takes you away from me. That is why I have to kill him." He lunged, ready to plunge one of his sias right into his chest. A gust of wind whooshed passed Asher as Misery intercepted the sais. She had caught it between her hands and was holding it at bay. "Just...let him go..." Misery said in a quiet voice. Lahziel began to try and pull his sais free and Misery looked back at Asher, "LEAVE! Leave or I will let him plunge this sais into your heart!" Misery was already loosing her hold on him and Lahziel was starting to get really angry. Deadra |

"Yeah, they are. So is inventing your own and amplifying the power of the phase-transfer cartridge by a factor of ten, but then again I did that too." He kept the weapon trained on the man, his finger already having pulled the trigger halfway back. Freya might mistrust him for a while, but she'd have to get her memories back in time... she'd know he had done the right thing... wouldn't she? All of a sudden, though... "Freya...?" He looked at her in shock - he had seen her come to catch them, he knew she would, and so he didn't even move when the man attacked. Finally, though, he spoke, locking his eyes onto hers, taking the glasses off again. His eyes glowed dimly, and he shook his head. "No... he's right. I won't let him keep you here until he's ready to use you... not under any circumstance... so you'll either have to let him kill me... or just not let go for a moment." At those last words, without any sort of warning, he had let go of the weapon, letting it swing around on his finger, and he twisted his whole body around, putting all the momentum into a sudden snap kick aimed right for the bastard's head - couldn't stab anyone if you were out cold... |

Misery didnt even have a chance to move and neither did Lahziel. The only thing he had time to do was open his eyes a little wider before he fell to the ground totally unconscious. Misery let the sais fall from her hand and turned to look at Asher in disbelief. "What did you do?!" She exclaimed, and then bent to check Lahziel. He seemed fine though, only unconscious. He was going to be pissed off when he woke up. She gazed at the fallen man with worry though and touched his bleeding head softly. "You didnt have to hit him so hard! You didnt have to hit him at all." Misery said dabbing at it now with a piece of cloth she had in her pocket. Why did Asher have to show up? She was happy the way she was before she had met him. As she tried to clean the blood off Lahziel's head, an image of an old man lying on the floor in about the same position flashed in her mind and tears began to roll down her face, though she didnt know why. "What? Why am I crying? I dont understand. I didnt know that man so why am I crying?!" She said a little louder. Deadra |

Asher just stood there, back to both of them for a few moments, panting slightly. So now he had knocked out the man she still thought she loved as a father, how was he going to win her over now...? She had to remember something and soon or none of this would help a thing... "It was either that or get killed, or let you get killed, and none of those are viable options..." He put the gun back in its holster, the glow fading from it, and he turned to kneel beside her. "He'll be fine, I didn't kick him nearly so hard as it looks like. It was just well-aimed, is all... kick a man in the right spot and he goes down no matter how tough he is, he'll wake up in an hour with a headache and he'll be fine..." Which to my mind is unfortunate... Why was she crying... she didn't know... was she remembering the old man finally...? "You did know that man... you knew him a long time, you're probably older than I am, truth be told... I can explain, but you have to come with me, I can show you how I know all this. I've tried to tell you in words, maybe now you just need to see..." |

Misery looked back at Asher. Maybe it was time to go with him and perhaps he could shed some light on the story. If she found nothing, or found that Asher was lying, she would get away and return home. Then again there was always the change Lahziel wouldnt let her come back home. She was still unsure of her decisions but she finally looked away from Asher, "Alright. I will go and see if you speak the truth." In all reality she was afraid to find out the truth. She was afraid that the man she was living with all this time was indeed a bad man that wanted to hurt her, or use her in some way. What would she do then? She didnt want to feel betrayed or anything like that, but it seems that might be inevitable. She stood, forcing the tears to stop and turned. "Lets go then.... But, if I dont find enough evidence, I will return here." Deadra |

"Alright... I promise, if you really truly by the end don't believe I'm telling the truth, if you think the memories that surface are a lie... I'll let you come back here. You're not my prisoner and I've no call to stop you from going anywhere." He slipped his arms under the man in black, and carried him into the living space he had seen earlier, where he lay him on the couch - but he slipped one of those sticks into his shoe, quickly when she wasn't looking. If the man stood he'd break it, and Asher would know their time was growing short... doubtlessly the man knew where she had used to live. "Alright, come on, it's a short drive." He walked to the door and opened it, waiting for her to go out first - his car was already outside, though he had walked here, he had called it while he was still in her room - another convienent little addition he had made to the vehicle. He walked over to the passeger's side, opened it for her and let her get in, then he closed it and walked around to get behind the wheel, where he hit the button that made the vehicle rise up off the ground, and then he took off. "I was there last night... thats where I found the letter." |
