It blinked and the orbs upon the armor emitted the aquamarine glow and as the it spoke many voices spoke with it again, that chaotic syphony, "We...are one...the armor and I.." the orbs lost their glow and the creature tilted its head to the side. As it spoke this time its voice was back to normal, "It is similar to the blades the demonic female carries." It didn't like the expression on her face, it was something of fear and of it. It stood still, hoping that if it did not move perhaps she would calm. A sign of being docile may ease her worries though he knew not of what she was worrying. |

The many voices that were emitted out of the creature startled Victoria, although it wasn't like she had never heard them before. It seemed the creature had gained a better control. The enhancement of the color in the being's armour did not help relive her either. Nervously, Victoria stood up and walked over to the table in the room, shuffling papers to occupy her hands. Mentioning a blade and demonic female, Victoria assumed he was speaking of Sabre. She was the only one he had met like that, or so it seemed. As far as Victoria knew, he had not seen much of the city or met many. Which was fortunate for them. A return to a single voice and the analogy helped alleviate some of the tension Victoria had felt thinking about her prior idea of the other being actually his creator. "Now that the answer is questioned, I have another. If you were to give an example of your abilities, what are you compelled to show?" Having the creature decide what task to take would also give light to what instincts, so to speak, he had. That in itself could determine how advanced of a creature he was, or his creator. Now Victoria wanted to find out if he was a free being, or still bound to the one before. If that be the case, then it had to be awfully confusing to be bound to both her and the other. Then again, her blood and energy would have severed any previous ties with another if her energy was strong enough. She only hoped her energy was, it would make things a lot less complicated and easier. But life proved to not be so, it was more common to have a path full of obsticles than not. |

Her questions confused it again, it didn't have an understanding of its own abilities. It just did what it was to do and that was all. It tilted its head to one side and then the other, "I am not sure what abilities I possess. I have no comparison to determine what is an ability and what is normal. We...I would suggest a way to find out. A..." again it didn't quite have the word. It looked to its hands then back to her, "A way to see what I can do, an obstacle or something?" It shifted to the left and then the right as it thought, "A...test?" that must be the word, it hoped it was the right word, and it sounded like the right word. It nodded to itself, "A trial or test of our strengths and weaknesses?" the suggestion seemed logical to it though it did not see any place where they may do such on its way here nor any place it had been since its creation. "Otherwise all I know is we are strong and fast when we want." that was all it had known, all it had done, move quick and strike hard, "and we can be very quiet." which was somewhat of an understatement. It knew it could move soundlessly. |

Victoria watched the creature struggle. He almost looked childish. Then again, he kind of was a child, at most adolescent. The assumption based on her knowledge of other creatures, which happened to not be quite like this being. Although his form would suggest otherwise. It was intriguing to watch, the stages apparent from how quickly he developed. She had to admire how well the being was handling it. Most children don't mature so smoothly. Most of what he spoke had Victoria thinking about his comprehension, she didn't realize she had been so hard to understand. Still, Victoria had never been a mother before to watch a child develop or know of anyone to have a child. Then the creature said something Victoria wanted to hear. He was quick, strong and silent. An assassin, not meant for brute force. Instead, he would be sly and cunning. Or so he made it sound. That was how his creator intended him. Victoria caught his glance and smiled. "Prove it," If he was as he said, then even in this room he could show such qualities, "Find a way to show me just how quick, strong and silent you are within the confines of this room." How he would go about the request would say much about his thought patterns. He didn't have to hurt her to prove anything, it was time for him to get creative. Use that ever-so-quickly developing mind. She had no need to fear him, if things got out of control she could defend herself, and this was her temple. Out of anticpation, Victoria dug her nails into the wood of the table slightly. However the creature chose to act would be entertaining in the least. It was better than looking through an endless array of books. |

Her request caused it to pause, standing still as a statue for a moment as its eyes searched over the room. It's eyes never looked to her, instead they looked from the various books they had been searching through for answers. It stepped forward and picked up one of the books. Looking over the book it slowly turned towards the many bookshelves and took off. Its movements were swift, soundless, and almost hard to follow because they were so fluid and many times faster than any mortal could hope to go without some supernatural assistance. As it moved quicker and quicker the orbs gave off that erie glow once again.. Oddly enough it placed all the books back but the largest it could find. Each book was not only placed on a shelf but placed back in its original spot. When it had placed the last book back, it calmly walked over to the book and picked it up. The book was large enough that only the tip of its fingers and thumb could grip it when holding by the bridge of the book. It slowly gripped the top of it with both hands. Leather cover and all and looked to her. First its hands pulled and opposite directions almost feebly but it paused a moment, the aqua marine gems glowing once more and it then tore the book in half, leather and all. It looked to the two halves of the book then back to her, "Sufficient or further testing?" it asked, the book obviously no recognizing the value of the book it had just destroyed. |

Victoria just observed the being, his movements becoming more difficult to keep a solid gaze on. She had actually lost sight of the being for a moment, but perhaps she was just overtired. His memory impressed her as well. Such detail, even she would have needed a moment to look at the order of the shelved books. The corner of her mouth lifted a bit as he worked. The fact that he rather put the books back than tear them all down was noted by Victoria. She kept an eye on the book he had separated from the rest. It was both the largest and oldest tome in the library. Perhaps there was information he had wanted to get from it while they were still here. The glowing of his armor also rousing curiosity from her. As he finished, Victoria wondered how he would prove his strength, previously assuming he would stack books as weights. Putting all of the books in their respective places did not leave room for that theory. As the being neared the single book, Victoria's face went blank. The creature picking up the book gave her a lump in her throat. She began to lift her hand, but didn't get out a sound as the creature tore it in half. Victoria's jaw dropped as she watched him rip through the leather and paper. She would have looked as if in awe, but it was quite the opposite. His final words never reaching her. "Oh no..." She spoke softly. Stumbling over to the remains of the book, Victoria pushed it together as if it would just repair itself. Of course it did not. "The Writings..." her hands moved over the torn pages, careful not to mix the order of the pages, "How am I...How could I..." Victoria mumbled aloud only partial thoughts. The ripped book was the Writings of the Guardians. The original words and accounts of those who protected and died for Aronia. Keeping her world safe from man, Khryst and Marcyus. She slumped her shoulders and slowly looked to the creature. "You wouldn't happen to know how to put it back together do you?" Victoria begged the energies for him to have a way, although rather unlikely. Chances are she would have to re-write the entire tome herself. Granted she could be hasty about it being a vampire, but the book still held many pages. It would take atleast a week to transcribe every word. Victoria sighed, atleast she had a blank tome to write in. |

It did not understand her worry over the item. Slowly it knelt down beside her, looking at the torn book then back to her, "I cannot but I may be able to duplicate it quickly upon another book." it stated before standing up, "Arranging it may take some time." It didn't feel bad for its deed, rather impartial to everything but her reaction. It looked around at the other books, wondering what the value of these things was. Maybe money but he had no interest in that and he didn't believe the priestess did either. That would mean the contents were what was valuable, "Information is important?" it asked though it wasn't directed to her. |

Victoria looked to the creature as he spoke, his offer she would take advantage of. However, she would not ask him to do all of the work. Victoria rose carefully, keeping a breeze made by movement to a minimum, she did not want to have to search through it even more. The pages that had kept their place she wanted to leave them that way. The creature's question that sounded more like a comment brought Victoria to smile. "Yes, as the age old saying goes, knowledge is power. The most valuable thing on Aronia is usually information. Who is who, or what it what can give one great abilities to create or destroy on many levels. Numbers of messangers have died keeping secrets over the years and scores books have been burned to keep them as well," Victoria watched the being look about the room. He had no idea how much information was kept here. There was a reason why only Victoria or Gwenefiere had access to the room, to the whole bottom level of the temple. It was not only this room that held secrets and treasures. For a moment, Victoria couldn't help but feel for the creature. His naivety giving rise to compassion from her. That desire to touch him began to gnaw at her. She raised her hand slightly, then Victoria remembered the book laying on the floor. Walking to the shelving nearest to the door, she pulled two books. Neither of specific design or character, they were just blank. Returning to the large table, she set them down, felt under the table until she found the small latch to a secret compartment. Opening the drawer, she took out two glass ink pens and a small fountain of black ink. Setting them on the table, she went to the torn pages and gathered them up carefully. Victoria placed the pages near the ink and pens and returned her sights to the creature. "If this is to be done, it is better now than never," Hopefully he would comply, it was his idea to help. |

It watched her carefully. Her hand raising for a moment brought curiosity to it again but it did not speak of it. There were other tasks at hand. Once she had placed the items he walked over and looked down upon the ripped book then the two new ones. He the closest blank one and opened it up infront of himself, setting it down. He then found both halves of the first page, it took him a while to figure out how to work the glass pens and the fountain of ink. "To say knowledge is power is to say everything that can remember is powerful." he stated as he began his work, his writing mimicked that of the writing in the other book. It was not paying attention to what the words were but just copying images flawlessly upon the new paper. "So..then one who has read all these books would be most formidable?" he asked as he waited for the finished page to dry before continuing on. |

Victoria was pleased that the creature took the initiative to begin. She decided to work backwards and found the two halves of the last page. A small symbol on the lower right corner marked the page as the end, which made that task a bit easier. Taking the remaining empty book, she began writing fluently. Frequent use of the pen over the years helped her in the situation. Watching the creature teach himself to use the tool was quite amusing and Victoria softly smiled. Granted the torn book was not a good situation, but she found herself rather content. Perhaps she should have been angry with the creature, but how could she? Soon the being picked up the proper use of the pen and quickly copied the first document. His words to her prior statement had her reflecting on her own meaning. Victoria was only two thirds of the way done when he finished, but she was reading as she wrote and just not as fast as he. "The books in this library were read, yes they would be. Not only would they know the history of Aronia, they would know the fundamentals of magic, energy, and all things natural. This would give them the opportunity to weild that power, but the person may not necissarily use it. Simply knowing how to..." She thought for a moment, still writing "...capture a soul, destroy a city and the likes does not mean you ought to," She paused to finish the last of the page and set the pen down. "If you look at many creatures that have self awareness to its environment, they all have a memory that helps them learn and predict events based on what they've learned. A fish with a short memory is more likely to be eaten than a fish that remembers where its predator is. So to remember and use that knowledge is survival, but not just survival, power and control over your existance," Victoria hoped he understood her point, sometimes even she got lost on a tangent. Moving the page up on the table, she searched for the next two matching pages. Each page was numbered in the same spot as the last page had the ending symbol. It was common for books to loose pages and numbering them helped the owner replace the page. |
