Forgotten: No one can escape. A great flash emerged above all of Aronia leaving each with short term memory loss. Years lost to the fog of amnesia. Can no one recall? That appears to be the case. Whom or what is responsible? Panic has stricken the globe. Will civilization collapse? What will emerge from the reset? Only time will tell. To each citizen of Aronia from the Global Gazette, we wish all luck.
Welcome to Aronia. We hope you enjoy your visit.

It did not like that man. Though it could not logically dictate why, it just saw the man as deceptive, and it didn't seem like the queen or the priestess. More like one of the guards. It slowly turned its attention to Victoria at her question. This question puzzled it. The concept of 'real' was not grasped by it.

"I do not understand. I am not real?" it asked as it outstretched its arms and looked down at them. It felt real, it poked itself and then looked back to her, "I do not understand. How are w...," it paused and shook its head, "am I not real?"

Victoria smiled and laughed to herself as the creature poked itself to show that it was real. Crossing her arms in concentration, she replied with a smile.

"Of course you are real, but you were just saying that you are a magical being. If my blood does not regenerate you, then you are not bound by the laws as most others. You exist in the physical realm to a degree. That is my understanding of it. I wanted to make sure you were satisfied with the answers you have. You wanted a purpose, perhaps not being completely of this world you need one. However, being bound to the physical realm stronger might help alleviate that desire," Victoria knew her blood alone was not strong enough to go that far. It took a little persuasion from the powers that be. And Victoria was good at that. She just wanted to help the creature without getting so frustrated. Put him in her world and she could help more. Sounded logical in Victoria's head.

Victoria returned to a chair and dropped herself into it, stretching out her arms and legs. Granted it wasn't very lady like, but she was more worried about comfort. There was a lot to do with the queen being back. And if they even wanted to think about going with this man, the queen needed a little change of self, so to speak. Then again, after exerting herself so far to have that accomplished, a two week voyage could be great to regain her strength. As long as the kindgom had someone looking out for it.

It pondered on her words for a moment. Though its thinking expression was the same bland expression it often carried under most circumstances that didn't involve hostilities. "We... I will concider it." was all it stated. Then turned its attention to the rest of the books. Such a vast library of knowledge hidden away. If it had any concept of worth he may have been impressed. He turned, his movements swift and soundless once again, and he aproached one of the bookshelves. His eyes began to search over the many different covers.

"The demons symbolized on me," it pointed to the metallic shoulder gaurd resembling the three-eyed horned demon, "are pact making demons, yes?" It asked as it slowly turned back towards her. Uncaring of her posture, obviously. "Perhaps, my condition, is a result of a pact." The possibility was there, though about as founded as the rest that they had come across.

Victoria nodded, more to herself than anything, when the creature gave his answer. It was most likely for the best anyhow, but atleast they had an option available. Leaning her head back, Victoria looked at the ceiling of the library, tracing the decor with her eyes. As the creature spoke, her eyes paused. It wasn't what he said, but how he said it. Perhaps Gwen was right afterall. The whole time she had been around this being, he could barely utter a complete sentence. And here he was almost carrying a conversation with her. With proper grammar at that. He was even continuously correcting himself when referring to himself. Now that may not seem like a big deal to most, but it was something about the creature that had irritated her so. Victoria furrowed her brow as she thought, eyes still locked on the ceiling.

"But a pact with what demon?" Her thoughts that if they knew which demon had created it, they would have a foundation to go from. Knowing which energies had been put into him, would give vision into his capabilities and limits. Not just that, but where he was in the whole scheme of things. A powerful demon had politics with many in Aronia. Lesser demons were common, if not a pest. Victoria looked to the creature.

"It's obvious what you are lacking. So what is it that you have?" It wasn't meant to sound abrasive, just clear. He had to have been created for something and you need specific qualities to do ceratain jobs. He was created to kill mages. So what made him qualified to do so? That too would point to which demon created him. You build a bucket to carry things, so it must have a bottom and sides. Decide a shape determined by what the bucket would carry. One for water must have no holes and be sealed tightly. And size for how much water, but it took a stronger man to carry a larger bucket of water... So what did one use to build a demon to kill mages? Victoria's mages.

The chuckle flowing from Sabre's lips died down slowly, ending in a quiet smile. "I'm sure we can find something that will suit your fancy." With a jerk of her head in the direction of her house, she noticed Shale's slow, but steady approach. Knowing he would follow until he had said what he needed to say (or if he just wanted to accompany them), she kept moving, Norban just in front of her.

Usually she would keep her guard behind her, protecting her back, but this time, she made sure she was even with the woman, on her left side. Sabre slid Althea back into her sheath and turned her head, bringing one hand up to her mouth. Inserting two fingers into her mouth, she whistled loudly in the direction of the temple and smiled as Kael made his way over to her at a light canter.

"Yes, she is. And you're not the only one to believe I'm insane. I'm sure Norban here has picked up that little personal detail of myself, as well as Alain. And I've only known them for a few hours. But you and I go back, General... years and years back! Surely you understand by now that there IS a meaning behind the madness, eh?" she laughed, putting a hand up on Kael's neck. The darkhorse snorted in agreement and slowed to a walk, keeping pace with his master.

"So, what's your name, dear? As I'm sure you've heard already, my name is Lady Sabre, but you may just call me Sabre for short as you do not work for me." She smiled and chuckled again, turning her head some to look over at Nicholette as she awaited a response from the girl. She seemed a bit on edge. Perhaps a bit of whiskey would do her good... loosen her lips a bit, at least.
Wash: I think they really captured his essence.
Kaylee: He looks kinda mean.
Wash: That's sorta what I meant.
Simon: This must be what going mad feels like.
Kaylee: Everywhere I go, his eyes keep followin' me...

The smile from the woman eased Nicholette a bit, atleast someone had a sense of humor. The damn wolves sure were stuffy ones. The comment by the man addressed as general brought a scrunching of her nose. Looking at him as if he were a dirty baby's diaper, Nicholette gave him some of the attitude he gave her.

"Your prison? Doesn't a woman run this kingdom? Which means you do what she says," Nicholette looked to Sabre, "If I am going to be spoken about as if I am not even here, I'm sorry but I will have to decline your offer. Don't take it personal, I just treat those the way they treat me," Nicholette leaving out her name purposely. If things got ugly again, she rather not have them know. She stopped walking and put her hands on her hips. Nicholette didn't care who this man was or what power he had. As far as she knew Ombra Di Notta was the place to go for equality and peace. Whoever this thing was obviously had no respect for such. Intimidation didn't work against her, no matter who it was. She would stand up to the Dark Wizard himself if need be. Backing down only proved you a coward. It was better to die with honor than a craven.

It listened intently, almost like a kid in school. Her last question confused it, it's head tilting to the side much like that of a dog.
"I do not understand...what do I have?" it questioned then changed its attention to the symbol with-in the hexagon on its chest. The symbol still a aqua-marine color.

"Perhaps this is a marking? A symbol to recognize our...my creator." though it was more than likely a symbol of what it was or what it was supposed to do. It then looked back at her and awaited confirmation on its suggestion, or perhaps a correction if it was wrong. The language was easy enough to understand direct meanings but it seemed like the words did not always mean what they were meant to mean. This was hindering its ability to communicate, so far as it could tell.

Victoria focused on the symbol for a moment and pursed her lips in thought, her fingers drumming on the leather. The rythmic sound making it easier for her mind to process thoughts to vocalize them. Why would that color be used of all to choose from? Such basic things usually had deeper meanings.

"I would agree with the markings being connected with the one who created you. So it seems that we need to find a reference to that symbol and some specific demon. As for what you have, I mean abilities; talents. Your purpose was originally to kill mages, so what do you have that makes you able to do so?" Victoria hoped she was much clearer this time. She took it for granted that she knew what she meant and others did not. Thinking aloud usually made sense to only the one speaking. The more they found out about this creature the better. Not just to satisfy curiosity, but to know what damage it could inflict if it chose to do so, and what would be needed to stop the thing should the time come. Victoria watched the creature carefully for any sign that he did not want to reveal something to her that could potentially prove important. It wasn't always what was said, but what was not.

It looked down upon itself at the mention of talents and abilities. It was thinking carefully on what she meant, "I am able to comprehend your language now." That would be a talent, it thought, though to it the comprehension was a slow natural thing. Though a day or two was extroardinarily quick to comprehend a language it didn't speak.

It touched the symbol on its chest, "I am not sure what else we are capable of. We work together...it does some and I do the other." its thoughts traced back to its fights. Though it wasn't certain about most of it, "Perhaps trial would show?" it wasn't sure if it had the right word this time, it hadn't heard enough of the language to decipher the word down to a test.

Victoria smiled at the creature's reply. Even he could realize and that said a lot. Then the wording of his next statement brought up a red flag. Fear and anxiety formed a pit in her stomach.

"We?" The word slipped from her lips by accident. Victoria was quiet for a moment.

"Who are you referring to working together with?" That was the most important question. A display of ability may be the trap that was set or a back-up plan. The creature was made to destroy mages, and if he couldn't there was plan b. And plan b usually involved a little more destruction. Perhaps whoever made him was also the other being he spoke of, the one he worked with. Which in turn would lead to more answered questions. Victoria began to regret allowing this creature into the temple. She mentally readied herself, afraid of what the creature could possibly reveal. Victoria may had inadvertantly let the enemy inside.Gwen was still mortal and they didn't have to thime to wait for her to be reborn again. Even the creature himself could have not known exactly what he was for until it was too late. Which would be perfect for an accurate design, just deadly to the one who set it free. Then end resul was achieved regardless of the status of the dabbler that desired revenge. And he would have revenge, from the grave.
